I work for Pennfield Corporation in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, as a Customer Service Rep and recently accepted the position of Equine Dealer Division Sales Support Specialist. The daily morning routine of my job is to answer the phones and take feed orders from the farmers, many of which are Amish. They order feed for their cows, horses, chickens, pigs, cats, dogs, and other various animals on the farm. I enjoy talking with these farmers on a daily basis and even know a few just from their voices. I live in Lancaster with my wonderful boyfriend Ken who runs Gator General Construction. We have many pets, We have 5 Red Eared Slider turtles, 1 Guinea Pig, and just adopted a mother cat and her kitten.
Growing up in the small community of Ephrata in Lancaster County offers a wide variety of opportunities. We had many Retail Outlets, Farmers markets not to mention all the roadside stands with fresh fruits and vegetables from the farms. Ephrata is approx. 60 miles west of Philadelphia, PA, on the Turnpike. Several places which are famous and located in Ephrata are, Doneckers, Green Dragon Farmers Market, The Cloisters, and The Lincoln House.
