(RN 878 ID 1-2-2-1-7-4-2) Marshall Ney Osborne,7 (Mary A. (Wolf),6 Jesse H.,5 Jacob,4 Michael,3 Jacob,2 Michael1) was the oldest son of Mary Arkansas (Wolf) and Ezekiel Newton Osborne. He was born November 3, 1881 in Arkansas, and was alive in 1906 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. There is a letter in the possession of Dorothy Boynton that he wrote his parents which is dated Indian Territory, 1906. He wrote this letter because Dr. Thomas Blount had accidently run onto him in a drug store somewhere in Indian Territory and Dr. Blount had told him that his parents were worried about him since he had just disappeared from their lives without saying goodby and that he should contact them to at least say he was alive. In this letter, he refers to the "sadness" he had brought them. He does not say what he had done. I believe that the family did not really know what it was that he was suppose to have done that caused him to have to leave his home and the area because I feel that Elizabeth Osborne Vickrey would have told me, when I asked her about it. She said that it was believed to be something related to the medical profession. At the time, he was employed to assist a doctor though he himself had no medical school training. The doctor's name is not known to me and other family members that I questioned about Marshall always gave the same answer, that they simply did not know. However, family members on more than one occasion just did not discuss things which caused embarrassment or pain to them so it could be that facts are lost to future generations because the truth, if they knew it, is not known to us. Nothing more is known of Marshall except from his picture it is obvious that he was handsome. His letter reveals that he was well educated for the day and that he did have compassion for his parents and family members and felt remorse for whatever it was that he had done that caused them heartache. He was unmarried.
