Jessie Ann Osborne Blount - Generation 7
Generation VII (Mary Arkansas(Osborne)6, Jesse H.5 , Jacob4, Michael3, Jacob2, Michael Wolf1)

295-1 (RN877 ID 1-2-2-1-7-4-1) Jessie Ann Osborne,7 (Mary A. (Wolf),6 Jesse H.,5 Jacob,4 Michael,3 Jacob,2 Michael1) was born on July 17, 1879 in Baxter Co., Ark., near Norfork. She was the first child born to the union of Mary Arkansas (Wolf) and Ezekiel Newton Osborne. Jessie and Dr. Thomas Blassingame Blount were married on November 7, 1900 in the Jane Kellough Luther Wolf home. Jane Wolf would have been the second wife of Jessie's grandfather, Jesse Wolf.

There is a document assessing the estate of Jesse Wolf in 1900 and it is thought to be that he no longer resided at what is known as Wolf House. So it could be assumed that he moved from the Wolf House to the home of his second wife, Jane Kellough Luther. By that time, 1900, Jane was also the widow of Jesse Wolf. She had been the second wife and widow of Calvin Luther before she married Jesse. Dr. Thomas Blount was born on January 16, 1877 in Baxter Co., Ark., as the son of Sarah Elizabeth (Culp) Martin and William Blassingame Blount. Sara was descended from Michael and Elizabeth Adams Wolf. Thus, Dr. Blount was related to the Wolf family by marriage even before he married a wife who was also a Wolf descendant. He was a typical early day "horse and buggy" doctor. He took a diamond stick pin as payment for delivering two babies and his daughter Mary Blount Elmore had a necklace made of it. The Blounts bought 120 acres south of Tupelo, Oklahoma and Mrs. Blount's brother Jacob Richardson Osborne came from Baxter Co., to run the farm when the doctor moved into Tupelo and eventually into Maud, Ok., in 1927.

He was an avid sports fan and hunter. He killed a wild turkey for the first Thanksgiving dinner after he and Jessie were married and Mary Arkansas Osborne cooked it. The Blount family moved to Durant, Ok., where he practiced till retirement. Jessie and Tom had one daughter Mary Elizabeth, commonly known as Mary Wiz, named after Mary Arkansas Wolf and Elizabeth Morton Osborne - her two grandmothers.

Mary Wiz was born February 16, 1909 as the daughter of Jessie Ann (Osborne) and Dr. Thomas Blassingame Blount in and around Tupelo and Maud, Oklahoma. She attended college and following her degree she taught school for six years before marrying Burnis Elmore. They lived in Ardmore for a year and then moved to Durant in 1936. They were partners in the Elmore drug with D.W. Sweeney until 1953. At that time they bought half interest in the family farming business located at Bokcheta and Albany, Okla. They returned to the drug business in 1954 and remained there until Burnis died on January 17, 1972. They had resided at 1231 West Evergreen in Durant for many years which was next door to her parents. Mary and Burnis adopted a daughter Julia Ann born June 9, 1948 and she died September 8, 1957 from Nephritis. Julia Ann was sick from age two and in April of 1952 learned of her fate. Julia Ann was the flower girl at the weddings of both Dorothy Osborne (Vickrey) Boynton and Noreen Osborne (Vickrey) Selman. They adopted Rose who was born February 25, 1946 and who came to them as a foster child following the death of Julia Ann. Rose married and had daughters LeeAnn and Jonell Hice and sons Billy Bob Albrect and Baby Boy Unknown. Following the death of Burnis, Mary sold her interest in the drug store and moved to Plano, Texas to be near Rose and her family and resided at 949 Overdown. Mary and Burnis were members of the Methodist Church where they were very active in its work. Burnis sang in the choir and Mary was active in the Missionary Society. The Church Quarterly Conference was often held in the back room of their drug store because the cokes were free. Going to the drug store was a great treat for Elizabeth, Noreen and Dorothy Vickrey when they were to Durant for visits. Mary passed away after being bedfast for some time. She is buried at the Durant Cemetery.

Jessie's two sisters Mary and Elizabeth came to the area and attended college at Ada. Her mother and younger brother Edmond also came after her father died in Baxter Co., Ark. in 1911. Her brothers Marshall, Oder, and Milam also lived in the area in the early nineteen hundreds. Jessie was fun loving and opened her home to visits from her family especially her nieces and nephews who loved to go to her house. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage on December 8, 1947 in Durant, OK and Tom died there from a heart attack on February 10, 1950.
