ANDREW JACKSON WOLF⁵ (JACOB⁴, MICHAEL³, JACOB², MICHAEL¹) was born 01 September 1829 in Norfork, AR, and died 09 April 1901 in Jacksonport, AR. He married MARGARET PENELOPE BROWN, 01 September 1870 in Jacksonport, AR, daughter of THOMAS BROWN and SARAH LAUDERDALE. She was born 03 March 1851 in Illinois or AR, and died 01 February 1932 in Jacksonport, AR.
     Andrew Jackson Wolf was born as the third child of Jacob Wolf and his second wife, Elizabeth (Lantz) Sanders/Saunders). Jack and Margaret Penelope Brown, b. 13 Mar 1851, d. 1 Feb 1932 were married on 1 Sep 1870 in Jacksonport, AR. Thomas Noble Brown was b. 1 Dec 1829 in Illinois and d. Feb 18166 in Jacksonport, AR and Sarah Elizabeth Lauderdale was b. 16 Nov, 1829 in Desota County, MI, d. 17 Aug 1862 in Jacksonport,AR.
     Jack had been a Captain in the army of the C.S.A. He had been a Quartermaster and had been taken prisoner at Port Hudson, Louisiana, and was held on Johnson Island. Family legend holds that Betsy Lantz's brother in Ohio was the federal judge who refused to arrange for his exchange saying, "The Wolfs have made their bed and now they can lie in it." Jack stopped over at Jacksonport on his way home from the war, and his visit coincided with a May Day celebration the town was enjoying. He met the May Queen and stayed in Jacksonport. She was, of course, Margaret Penelope Brown. Jack was a businessman in Newport, and served as county treasurer of Jackson County for several years. He and Penny, who are both buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Newport, were the parents of six children. Reference: Same as for his parents.
