Arachnophobic's Cure (Tiny Little Spider)

While playing in my room one day, suddenly I saw,
A tiny little spider climbing up my wall.

I did not want him in my room for spiders I did fear,
I'd likely scream, jump, or freeze whenever one came near!

To kill him seemed so messy, and being a squeamish child,
I thought instead I'd catch him, and free him in the wild.

I searched, and found a little jar, quite big compared to him,
And brought it close against the wall to force that spider in.

He turned and squirmed and dashed away as fast as he could move,
Then scrunched his tiny frame into a tiny corner groove!

I aimed to knock him down so he would land right in the jar,
But I was having no success--my game was way off par.

For every time I knocked him down his web would catch him up,
Then, "Hurry, scurry, flit, flee-flee", he'd scamper to the top!

Now, I would not give in, at last the victory was won,
My heart felt warm as he went free--a kind deed had been done.

Throwing myself down on my bed, letting out a great sigh,
A silly gleam came over me when something caught my eye.

A tiny little figure, I couldn't believe I saw,
Another little spider climbing up my wall!
