THE MERCY SEAT...

...or Throne of God, (because the presence of
God hovered over it), was where the High Priest
would sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice,
on the Day of Atonement,
to cover the sins of the people of Israel.

"But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sin every year.  For it is
not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins..."
"...we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus once and for all."  Hebrews 10:3-4; 10


Here we see Jesus as the one
and only sacrifice that
is able to forgive our sins
and sanctify us forever!
This is the wonder and joy
of the New Covenant,
under which we now live!
