I am alone, solitary, my own space is too much for me to handle. God, why can't you show me the way? The rungs are there but why can't I lift my arms to reach them? Wandering, alone again, I traverse the desert, a song comes to mind, something silly and melancholy... I sing the words, but the feeling devours me. My soul cries the words aloud. Anger, doubt, grief, longing... All of these, preying on me. Eclipsing the Light, challenging my pride... Silent, I toil, days pass still my sojourn continues, the darkness deepens. I lose track of myself. Enfolding me are the arms of deviance. I lounge tranquil in their embrace. Still, the darkness beckons. I follow it into yet another cavernous womb of silence. I glance out at the light, it draws me towards it but my feet are swept from me. Stumbling, longingly, I give chase. My bruised knees, soul, are sore. I weep and gnash my teeth. I cry out to anyone... I cry... Anguished, I find myself at the edge of darkness, with noone to hear my silent cries... I enshroud myself with arms and armor and trudge on, a champion eternal, seeking the arms of Love and the renewing fountains of peace....
