Dan was born on May 20th. What year is anyone's guess. See my Zombie theory. His modern claim is that he was born in Minneapolis, MN. His role in the band is lead guitar and is the main songwriter. Before Semisonic, he was in Trip Shakespeare along with John, his brother Matt and Elaine Harris.
Dan has been playing the piano for nine years, but despite usually playing guitar on stage, he has never had any formal lessons. He attended Harvard no less, studying an Art major, but decided that music was his true calling.
Away from music, Dan is the only maried member of the group, and has a daughter named Coco. |
