The 1998 release of Feeling Strangely Fine proved to be Semisonic's greatest hit. Selling over 2 million copies worldwide. The first single Closing Time, is basically the song which broke Semisonic in America. It has become a massive anthem all over the world, and you would be hard pressed to find someone who has never heard of it. Just as the hype around Closing Time in America subsided, the UK got a taste for Secret Smile, forcing the guys to start a whole new tour. The next single from the album was Singing In My Sleep, a modern ballad for Romeo and Juliet.

The rest of the album is an amazing fusion of upbeat catchy songs and slow ballads. Songs like, She Spreads Her Wings, Gone To The Movies and DND are the epithamy of what can be called "love songs", while Never You Mind and This Will Be My Year provide something for the recently jilted.

FSF along with All About Chemistry could be called "introductory" CDs to Semisonic, as they provide the best example of the bands popular sound, and now with the recent release of AAC, you can probably pick up a copy of FSF for cheap!
