Switzerland 2005

Working off the numerous Swiss chocolate bars I had eaten during the week, we decided to ascend the local mountain. Utterly nackered I still felt it necessary to pull a heroic pose.

The photos below were taken about half-way up. We were going to take the ski-lift to the top, but there was no way I was trusting our lives to one of those things, heights I don't mind so long as I am in control, plus I needed the exercise. Good job, really, because the lift swung to a halt as we were making our ascent
We called it a day after we came across a field with a bull in it. I thought it would be OK and we were nearly at the top, but you can't take the risk when you have a little 'un.  There were lots of wild flowers up here, many unfamiliar ones. We wondered what it must be like in spring - the grass must get covered.

We left Torgon a couple of days later, leaving in the pre-dawn and inching down the mountain in the dark before hitting the main road back to Geneva to get our early flight back. I needed a watch and I figured if there was anywhere in the world where i could buy a decent one, it would be Geneva Airport duty free. I wasn't wrong. I love airports and I love the idea of all those watches waiting to wing their way to new homes around the globe.
