One further recommendation is the guidebook we used. It was the Cadogan Guide to Malta, Gozo and Comino by Simon Gaul. It is easily the best guide book we took with us for it's humour and insight into the local way of life and doubles up as a cracking good holiday read. A very funny and affectionate book.
