Malta is famous for it's archaeology. Hagar Qim and Mnajdra in the south are well worth a visit. These temples considerably pre-date Stonehenge and are largely intact. A lot of stone carved statues were recovered from the excavations and are now on display at the Museum of Archaeology in Valetta. Many of them represent the pregnant female form. | |||||||||||
