There are 3 main tasks in regard to drywalling. Boarding, Taping, and Finishing.

Boarding- The application of drywall board on to steel or wood studs.

Taping- The application of paper or plastic mesh tape. The paper tape requires that a coat of drywall compound be applied to the joint as applying the tape. Plastic tape stick on without applying compound.

Finishing- This is the last  stage. The several applications of the drywall compound. Time consuming and messy.
