David Arquette born in Winchester, Virginia on September 8 1971, is part of a russian-french Jewish show business family. Grandfather Clliff Arquette was a vaudeville and radio star famed for his character 'Charley Weaver'; father Lewis is an actor, as are sisters Rosanna and Patricia, and his brother Alexis.

David's professional acting career began in 1990 in tow short-lived TV series, based on successful movies,
'The Outsiders' and 'Parenthood'. His movie career got a kick start in 1992 which a small part in 'Where the day takes you', about homeless kids in L.A.

The same year he was in
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' with Kristy Swanson. Never out of work, Arquette was in eleven films between 1993 and 1996, before winning some critical acclaim in the independent film 'Johns', about male hustlers in which he co-starred with Lucas Haas. His next film however put him on the map. It was Wes Craven's 'Scream' and his characters "Dewey Riley" became the anchor for all three 'Scream' films.
Speaking about his character after the release of 'Scream 3', Arquette said "He's the guy everyone falls back on. The only difference is now he's a little more cynical and less naive."

His profile in Hollywood also benefited evidenced by the stronger roles and star billing that followed opposite Drew Barrymore in
'Never Been Kissed'; Guy Pearce in 'Ravenous'; Kermit and Miss Piggy in 'Muppets from Space' and Kevin Costner, Kurt Russel and Christian Slayter in '3000 Miles to Graceland'. In five consecutive years David Arquette also acted in and produced five independent films that competed at the Sundance Film Festival in Colorado.

A keen amateur wrestler he appeared in the TV series 'WCW Monday Nitro' and in 2000 is in the movie comedy about wrestling game,
'Ready to Rumble'. To promote the film Arquette appeared on WCW Thunder, April 27, 2000 and became the WCW Heavyweight Champion in a special tag match, pitting himself and his partner Diamond Dallas Page against Jeff Jarrett and Eric Bischoff.

Another of David's major interests has been nhis rock band called EAR2000. Their track 'The Race' was included on the
'Scream 2' soundtrack, and 'Click, Click' on 'Scream 3'. The band broke up in early 2000.

David Arquette and his
'Scream' co-star Courteney Cox married in 1999, following a two-year engagement.
