ACES UK

1/12th Scale FLYING LEGENDS meeting

2nd May 2009, SMAA Harlington site.

Through ACES Aircombat, many models have been built. Some of these are unsuitable for competition, but are bonafide models in their own right. It has been suggested that we hold an event where any such models can be displayed, either statically or in flight. Such an event would be held for fun, and could have wider scope to allow other aspects to occur, such as "Dry Runs" and photographs, and display of non-combat types. We'll even have a place for any 1/12th scale ground "support" vehicles.

AIM 1: To collect together and celebrate as many examples of 1/12th scale aircraft as possible.
AIM 2: To run-through/practice any flying formations, manoeuvres and procedures used at Demonstrations/Display events.
AIM 3: To promote all things 1/12th scale.

ILLEGIBILITY: Attendees will be members of SMAA or ACES UK Aircombat group. Any 1/12th scale model(s) can be displayed statically Note that the model should be fitted out or intended for flying. Those intending to fly their models will need Flyer's 3rd Party Insurance. Models can be anything eg Spitfire, Piper Cub, Boeing 747, Sopwith Camel etc etc.

LIMITATION 1: 1/11th-1/12th-1/13th scale only. Other sizes not allowed.
LIMITATION 2: Free flight flying maybe dependant on wind direction.

ADDITIONAL 1: Flyers will be charged 1UKP "registration fee". They will be automatically entered into an informal competition for the best scale flight. A trophy will be awarded.
