Fokker DXXI - Dave Dempster

This was designed and mainly built some time ago, and suffered from a couple of major problems. The first problem was ground handling. The rudder was useless, and although fitted with a steerable tailwheel, the ground proved to be too bumpy for this to stick. Loads of left torque (shedloads of right thrust fitted) caused very vicious groundlooping. After handlaunching, a nightmare port tip stall was experienced on turns, unless airspeed was quite high. Wing only has about three degrees of washout. More should be used, especially as the weight is about a kilo plus.
Notice the working flaps, set to about 80% here. In the air, they did not have much effect on holding off the stall. Enya 15 power. The full size version of this aircraft operated from De Kooy (Holland) in 1939.
