It's About You
You walked out of my life,
leaving me only a hole
a memory
and a hope.

Your dance begins again
winging your way towards horizons obscured
drawn by inner needs
cutting a swath
deep into my heart
drawing my breath
tearing me apart.

Only when you said you were going
did I understand what you'd come to mean
to a man of unravelling tethers
ready again to begin to dream.

It was self defense
that caused me to sever my thoughts
leaving you to be as you must
wishing you back
Tears falling only within,
hidden to all.

Wishing you away,
never to tangle me in your web
spun freely within my imagination
entrapping me from the past
reminding me daily
of the pain you wrought.

Yet, those rememberances
beckon to me still.
drawing me in
drawing me down
wishing your touch
and your ever present smile.
Wanting even the mere presense of your beauty,
and your style.

Can you understand,
the visions you project
nightly, images of your face
reminding me
intoxicating me
with memories of your grace.
