"You wanted to see me, Captain?"

"Bad news, I'm afraid, Ensign." The Captain looked nervous. "We've 
been recalled. Starfleet's declared Voyager lost."

"But, Captain... we can't stop now! We're so close..."

"Orders, Ensign Kim. However, there's some good news as well. I know 
you passed up promotion to get this assignment; I've now been 
authorised to..."

Harry interrupted. "I quit. I'm resigning my commission. If I can't 
look for Voyager with Starfleet, I'll look on my own." He turned, his 
face a picture of anger and disappointment, and stormed out.

"Good luck, Ensign," said the Captain to an empty room.
