missing, new possibilities open up.



The Examination for Lieutenant - Year 1a (Time and Again alternate 
timeline).



As Torres and Kim headed for the flashpoint of the explosion, Tuvok 
drew Chakotay aside.

"Commander, it is possible that we may be unable to rescue Captain 
Janeway and Lieutenant Paris. I suggest we plan for a worst case 
scenario."

Chakotay's face was grim. "Could you serve under me, Tuvok?"

"The Maquis crewmembers would not respect my authority, so there is no 
other logical course. However, I must be replaced at Tactical."

Chakotay pondered. "Harry Kim's green, but he's got the right skills. 
Of course, we'd have to make him a Lieut..."

"Commander!" called Harry. "I think we've found them!"
