| Welcome to the Future Home of Clan Darksail's Perche Regiment |
| The SCA Heavies (Hard Suit) unit of Clan Darksail is undergoing some major changes. Formerly known as the "Gascony Regiment" (a group of loyal king's soldiers from the South of France), the members of the Darksail fighting group have decided to portray a more historically accurate group known as the Perche Regiment, a rather well-documented group of mercenaries from the late 17th century. We are changing our uniforms and painting our shields, in the hopes that by Great Western War VIII we will have a full unit up and running of these new soldiers. | Goodbye, Corsican Blue: Although accurate for the King's Royal troops, powder blue did not exactly strike fear into our enemies on the field. And as a combat uniform the mandillion with it's loose sleeves left a lot to be desired. The new uniforms (brown, gray & gold) will be cut in the style of late-period surcotes, just as the images below show. |
