Background of the DAR
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded on October 11, 1890.   The Society was incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia June 4, 1891, and in 1896, incorporated by an Act of the United States Congress.

Membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution provides opportunities to:


Over 850,000 members have joined the NSDAR since it was founded. There are now over 160,000 members in chapters in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Mexico, and Japan. The National Headquarters covers a full city block of buildings, a short distance from the White House.

The Aloha Chapter was organized March 5, 1897, as Chapter Number 375.  It was incorporated in the Territory of Hawaii in 1945 and in the State of Hawaii in 1959.  The chapter currently has 110  members.  The regular meetings of the chapter are held at the Aloha Chapter Home in the Makiki area, Honolulu, usually on the fourth Saturday of each month, except as designated, from September to May.  The Aloha Chapter House and Library may be reached by phone at 808-949-7256 or by email at
