M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable is a big step-up from his extremely overrated The Sixth Sense. General audiences will probably not agree with me, but The Sixth Sense was utter garbage, while this film, with it's slower pace, better acting, and far finer writing is a gem. Bruce Willis stars as David Dunn a "normal" man who finds out he may have extraordinary abilities, he learns this from an interesting character played by Samuel L. Jackson who's bones are extremely brittle, and becomes horribly ill from a minor cold. The direction, writing, and acting have all considerably matured from Shyamalan's last endeavor, and while his final ending is still problematic (the superimposed titles) his film is a very good one.  *** -T.J. Although I liked "Unbreakable" as much as T.J. did, I think it's a step down for Shyamalan from "The Sixth Sense". I really enjoyed "Unbreakable" for the most of its running time. It goes at a slow pace but that didn't bother me because it was allways egaging and I can't say I was bored with it at all. My only problem is with the movie's ending which I found ultimately unfulfilling. Other than that, "Unbreakable" is an enthralling and entertaining movie experience that should satisfy most viewers. Should be a real treat for comic book fans.
