Okay, now add a new layer. Choose your selection tool, circle, feather 0, antialias checked and make a small circle for Charlie's finger. Flood fill as you did for the body and the head. Deselect. Go edit copy, then edit paste as a new selection and paste a finger for Charlie three more times. Refer to screen shot below for placement. Deselect. |

Once you have that completed, duplicate this layer and paste. Then go to image mirror, then image flip. Then go to image and rotate right, free 10 degrees. Use your mover tool and refer to screenshot below for placement of Charlie's left fingers. |

It may seem a bit odd that Charlie has no hands, but I wasn't to keen on attempting a vector for hands! LOL! I had enough of a difficult time with the feet, which is the next step, so I cheated a little. At this point add a new layer, choose your selection tool, set to circle, feather 0, antialias checked and draw a little circle for Charlie's thumb. Then flood fill as you did for the body, arms and head and add the cutout as you did for the fingers. Move it into place, then deselect. Then copy it, paste as a new layer, then move it into place on the other side by Charlie's fingers on the bear. Then move this layer to the bottom. See, you can see his little thumb behind the bear! You may merge these finger and thumbs layers visible now if you wish, just make sure to turn off all other layers except these ones and rename fingers. Okay, I promise we are almost done! We are next going to do Charlie's cute little feet! Add a new layer and name it "feet" and make sure you move this layer above the body layer if it isn't already. Then load "B_Feet" selection from disk. Flood fill as above and then deselect. Go selections, select all, float, then do the following cutout twice, changing the second cutout to -1 Vertical and Horizontal. |

Deselect and then add the drop shadows as you did for the diaper changing the second drop shadow to -2 Vertical and Horizontal. Now for the fininishing touches! I have included a face in the zip for Charlie that you may use if you like. Just open it up, copy and paste as a new layer on to the head layer, or you may draw Charlie a face yourself! Be creative! You may also add hair to Charlie or leave him bald. I used the draw tool, set to 1, antialias checked, everything else not checked and drew a few small curls for him using the brown we used for the outline. I then added a little bit of an inner bevel to give it some dimension. When you are done merge all layers visible. Your Chubby Charlie is done and isn't he adorable? Thanks so much for trying my tutorial and I really hoped you enjoyed it! The End |
