This is one strange little piece of music! "So Nice" Bebel Gilberto gives a beautiful performance on this loungey masterpiece. The GIST Remix is a straight forward modern radio version, DJ Marky takes the track in a noisy fast breaky direction, the Terrace Mix by Layo and Bushwacka do the piece justice with nice house beats that break dwon into the original, the album version is pure lounge.
Zoom is delicious! "Let it Go" is one laid back piece of male vocal disco! I usually do no like male vocal stuff but this is rather funky and well crafted! Think in terms of "This Sound" from Mike Moog! The cd single features; M&S Radio Edit, Original Edit, and Liquid People Manners Vocal Mix-which is a bit more commercial housey as compared to the disco mixes!
Hooj has decided to cash in on the retro eighties wave of house music! "In The Underground" from Psycho Radio is not my first pick for song of the week! I am a Hooj collector and this is not a release that I like! Have a listen to this track and see what you think! Basically, it features some filtered male vocals mixed with a noise! Mixes include; Original Mix, a-J-Scent Mix-I can tolerate this one-very tek house, Paul Woolford MIx, and Daniele Tignino Dub Mix!
Timo Maas's "Help Me" It's spooky and catchy and a lot of fun! Kelis delievers top vocals over top a creepy synth hook that sounds like a vintage sci. fi. score! The Original Mix and Deep Dish Attacks Mars Remix are very similiar! Deep Dish adds some crazt sound effects and breakdowns! Kamanchi offers an uncalled for break beat mix!
More Male vocal disco madness from Coloursound's "Fly With Me." It's a bit repetitious but delicious none the less! The bass riff is hot and the vocals are just a feel good sing along! The Ashely Beedle's Air America Vocal Mix does nothing for this track!
The song is good-BUT, I did not want Madonna to do the new Bond song, let alone have Mirwais produce it and have it NOT sound like a Bond song! "Die Another Day" is a lot of fun but not what I envisioned as the next Bond song! Warner Brothers has wasted no time pushing this song for Madonna! There are some really good remixers on the projection which makes the whole think a bit more palatable! The cd includes; Radio Edit, Dirty Vegas Mix-the best version-very driven and dark, Thee RetroLectro Mix-Felix Da Housecat produces his usual clangy electronic weirdness, Thunderpuss mixes up a techo edged version, Deepsky handles the trance house mix, and Brother Brown's mix is a minimal house version!
It's a double release for the Pet Shop Boys! "London" does have a nice remix thanks to Felix da Housecat! What a mess the PSB have become with all of this stupid acoustic shit! It sucks period I am tired of hearing that it is a "new mature" sound-we have all grown up and so that they.........piss off, this sound sucks!
"London" cd 2 features the Westbam in Berlin Mix-SNORE, Thee Radikal Blaklite Mix, and Radikal Dub! Felix turns the song in a electro diso throbber along the like of "Shiny Disco Balls." You will love it! The first cd single in the set features, Berlin Radio Mix, Piano Mix, and b side "Positive Role Model" which is very good!
