GOCAD
GOCAD = Geologically Oriented Computer Aided Design
Summary
This is a 3d package for visualization, and manipualtion of 3d objects
including points, curves, surfaces, and volumes.
Gocad can read, display, and manipulate seismic data in usp and dds formats.
The program is under developement by
the GOCAD industrial
consortium
with significant membership from NANCY France.
Gocad provides for viewing, creating, and modifying sets of points, curves,
surfaces, and volumes.
The gocad maintanance group has a web page
and is eager to make arrangements to help you learn gocad, or modify gocad to
solve your problems.
To start the Amoco verson of gocad type the command "amoco_gocad" on the command line of
a SGI or UltraSparc workstation. It is useful to start gocad from the directory
containing your data. Otherwise you will often be required to input the
path to your data.
If you wish to run gocad on a sparc 2 or 10,
rlogin in to an SGI or ultrasparc, set the DISPLAY environment variable
to display on your workstation, and then execute gocad with the command line
"amoco_gocad mesagl".
