Last week I sent an e-mail to one of the most profound drummers of the past (Scott Raynor) asking for an interview.  Since he is such a nice guy he said sure and replied to the 10 question interview.  What a nice guy!

Dammit182U.S.A.- Out of all of the bands that you have played in, which one is your best experience?

Scott Raynor- i have played in alot of bands and each was a good experience in its own
way. with blink i had alot of fun just joking around and being stupid, the
best thing about blink is that we never took ourselves seriously. we were
serious about music but not ourselves.

D182- What were you like as a kid, likes and dislikes?

Scott-  between ages 13 and 16 i mostly just listen to music those years are hard
for kids and i clung to music it was everything to me. i would walk throught
the whole day with my head phones on only taking them off when the bell rang
for class to start and putting them back on when class ended, music was my
best and just about only friend

D182- What is your all time favorite band?

Scott-  I cant say i have an alltime favorite because different bands are for
different moods, but if i had to pick one it would be fugazi. they rock
harder than any band i know and they have a strong mind for social justice
which to me is true punk. there albums take you to all kinds of intense
places.

D182- Are you and Travis Barker close friends?

Scott- i only met travis a couple of times but he seems like a nice guy.

D182- If you had the chance to be in Blink again, would ya do it?

Scott- i dont know if i would ever want to play in blink again.sometimes it
seems like it would be cool to have things be the way that they were but
things with them seemed to have changed. i wouldnt want to be a part of what
they are doing now.

D182- Do you get a lot of e-mail, any hate mail?

Scott- i get a few e-mails everyday and i talk to people over the im. i am lazy
but i push myself to work hard to keep communication going because my
experiences with music have been awesome and i want to share that with people
and i also want to personally thank everybody for supporting blink . i got a
bad message on my bands message board, it sucks but i dont let it bother me,
and thats the only bad mail so far.

D182- Are you an all out punk kinda guy, or do you listen to other genres of music too?

Scott- I listen to all genres of music and i mean all. i believe that punk is an
attitude and actions for social justice and equality and all that tree hugger
stuff, not just a style or musical sound so i find punk in alot of places in
all forms of art and life.

D182- You have played in a lot of different bands, which is your favorite to have recorded with?

Scott- my favorite was when i recorded with the axidentals, now called death on
wednesday because i played guitar and i had never been part of the actual
song writing before so that was cool.

D182- I have seen your appearance in music videos in the past, do you enjoy doing music videos and what do you think of them?

Scott- I think music videos are cheesy but they are fun cheesy like chucky
cheese.

D182- If you could make three wishes what would ya ask for?

Scott- if i had three wishes i would wish for beans, beans, and more beans!
