A Confederation? |
Is a Confederation with Yugoslavia wise? Well, I believe so. Primarily because of Orthodoxia, and secondly, Serbia is Greece's only ally that has always remained on our side. But with Confederation, it must be understood that this does not mean Greece simply abandon NATO and the EU. To do this would be political suicide! This Confederation would be similar to the EU itself. The Serbs, the Hellenes keep their respective nationality and language, but Military cooperation must be forwarded to almost full integration into an Hellenic-Serb force. Greece could still keep various battalions in the hands of the EU Defence Force, and NATO. Of course, Serbian aircraft would have unlimited access to Greek airspace and non-NATO airfields. Assistance to Yugoslavia's minimal Navy is paramount, as Greece's Navy is considered a regional power. Serbian Special Forces Officers who took part in the various Balkan confilcts are of prime importance to the Hellenic Army, considerably so for Urban warfare, a practiced art for the Serbs. As for politics, a committee based representative for the "Confederation" could be developed. This organization could be the political arm for the confederation, and organize both cultural and political activities for the two countries. I realise there are those who read this and simply believe it impossible. I believe this union is possible, especially with Yugoslavia's new path. This Confederation should not mean the end of the Greek or Yugoslavian state, but should secure the religious and historic union of our peoples, and protect this union with force if need be. |
This, my friends, is step number 1! |
And this is not a new idea, Milosevic tried it in 1992, and again in 94. But alas, he was the wrong man at the wrong time. |
A Confederation or not, I don't really mind as long as the Serb and Hellenic peoples are forever united. The only true allies. |
