The summer of 1991 was a summer of firsts. It was my first time to be up
North.
Being a Southern Texas gal, there were many things I was unaccustomed to
seeing. Not only was I
in a higher latitude with mountains and snow, but I was in a national park
where I was able to see marmots, moose, elk and bison. I saw geysers,
hot springs, mud pots, rivers,
waterfalls and cool rocks. I was also able to do many new things like
backpacking,
whitewater rafting, rapelling, rock climbing and hiking to the very peak
of a mountain.
My roommate, Susan, and I chartered a plane from Jackson Hole
to Yellowstone Lake and saw awesome views of the park! That summer was like
no other before or since.
Here I share some of the experiences I had,
photos I took and a poem I wrote. Enjoy!
