| MFLS Masters Tournament |
| The Masters Tournament features competition between managers with MFLS leaderboard honors. The format is designed with a golf theme. Official Scorecard Schedule - The tournament will consist of 18 holes (MFLS weeks) beginning with MFLS week 7. After the first 9 holes, the top 25 teams (those with the lowest scores) will "make the cut" and continue to play through the back 9. In the event of a tie at the cut line, the team(s) with the higher Masters Rating will advance. Masters Rating is only used for the cut line tie-breaker and is established as follows: For every leaderboard finish, the manager is credited with 26 minus his/her MFLS rank. For instance, if Joe Schmoe finishes 8th on the leaderboard, he receives 18 towards his Masters Rating (26-8=18). If Joe also finished 1st in another season, he would receive an additional 25 (26-1=25). And if Joe finished 25th on another occasion, he would have another 1 (26-25=1) giving him a total 44 Masters Rating. If managers are still tied after the Masters Rating, the best rank achieved will be used, then the second best rank, and so on. If still tied, most recent top 25 appearance will be used. Note that my leaderboard archives are not complete, so feel free to let me know if I have missed something or have an error in my records. Scoring - managers will be awarded points based upon their score for the week relative to the other participants. On the front 9, points will be awarded as follows: Top MFLS score for the week = double eagle (-3) 2nd to 4th highest scores = eagle (-2) 5th to 10th highest scores = birdie (-1) 11th to 22nd highest scores = par (0) 23rd to 28th highest scores = bogey (+1) 29th to 31st highest scores = double bogey (+2) Lowest MFLS score for the week = triple bogey (+3) For the back 9, points will be awarded as follows Top MFLS score for the week = double eagle (-3) 2nd to 3rd highest scores = eagle (-2) 4th to 8th highest scores = birdie (-1) 9th to 17th highest scores = par (0) 18th to 22nd highest scores = bogey (+1) 23rd to 24th highest scores = double bogey (+2) Lowest MFLS score for the week = triple bogey (+3) Ties in rank for a given hole are rounded toward par. The rounding occurs if the tie straddles a scoring category. For example, on the back 9, if two managers are tied for the 3rd highest score, both will get a birdie (-1). However if two managers were tied for 2nd, both would get an eagle (-2). All scores will be final 24 hours before the MFLS deadline for the following week's roster. MFLS scoring corrections after that time will not be counted. Winning - The manager with the lowest score after 18 holes wins the tournament. In the event of a tie after the 18th hole, all managers tied for first place will play extra holes until the tie is broken. Highest raw MFLS score among the tied managers will be counted as a birdie, managers with lower MFLS scores will be credited with par. Eligible Managers - Eligibility for the tournament is restricted to managers who have finished at least one season on the MFLS leaderboard. Registration for the 2009 tournament is now over. The eligibility list for 2010 will be updated at the conclusion of the 2009 season. |
