Many of you may have already discovered other Web Sites for David and/or The Partridge Family. Most of them have concentrated on the years David was a teen-idol (1970-1974) and they have excellent data for that time period! However, I have noticed a lack of detailed information on much of David's solo and Post- Partridge Era. Therefore, this site will on ALL of David's career including the many Plays he's done, Concerts, Records & CD's, TV appearances, History of Cassidy Fan Clubs, and much more. If you have any information to contribute, it would be most welcome!
Like the title of David's most recent CD "Then and Now," this site is for all of David's fans. Those who have recently "rediscovered" him and still adore him from the past and those who have followed him throughout his career. I hope that if you've just rediscovered him that you check out all the wonderful work David's done since his teen-idol days. I think you may be surprised and impressed with all he's done and accomplished. |
Some of you may already know of the history behind the name Da-idy and remember a fan club I used to run by the same name in the 1980's as well as a newsletter put out by Urda Voss who also ran a club for David. For those who don't know, here is a little history lesson for you. The word "Da-idy" was first used on David Cassidy's 1975 album "The Higher They Climb, The Harder They Fall." It's about the rise and fall of a "teen idol". Although the album was not a success in the U.S.A., it was very successful through out Europe having several hit singles and won Germany's Bravo Award as the Best LP of 1975. On this L.P. there is a track called "Dialog At Park Bench" in which a down and out David Cassidy meets up with a bum. At one point the bum gets a copy of the "National Taddler" (take off of Nat. Inquirer) and says "Look at this, it says this guy Da-idy, Da-idy, oh there's a whole tear in the middle here. We'll never know this guys name
." On the inner sleave of this L.P. are hand written liner notes and under the next song, David wrote "Vocals by Da-idy." Hence the name "Da-idy" came to represent not just David's name but a new era of a more "serious" David Cassidy who would now show the world who the TRUE David Cassidy really is and what great talent he has to share with the world! Many thanks to all the fans who have helped me at various times with all kinds of information through out the years! Please click on SPECIAL THANKS to see just some of the names of people who have helped me with info. For a full story on all of David's Fan Clubs, past and present, just click on FAN CLUB HISTORY. Thanks to all of you for dropping on in and most of all, thanks to David for adding such joy and pleasure to all of our lives!
