Picture is a couple of years old now; I don’t have a camera at the moment to do another.
I've owned the car since Sept 1996, had to put finishing touches to it as previous owner was unable to complete his rebuild. I have a big list of parts invoices from that time to show what he did.
The first trip out (1997) was a 3 week tour of Scotland, up as far as Wick.
Then,
2000, Annecy, Eastern France.
2001, Switzerland, Chexbre, (with trip to Zermatt).
2005, Italian Lakes, calling in at Annecy again on return journey.
2007, Rome/Florence.
In all these trips the only problem was Overdrive switch failure.
In the last couple of years I've struggled to find the time to stay on top of it and rather than see it deteriorate I'd like it to go to a good home.
Things to do:-
The heater doesn't work, valve is stuck closed. Never used the car in winter so never bothered with it.
The overdrive switch needs replacing, this is the 3rd one I've had. It's shorted out at the moment to give lower engine revs on longer journeys.
Engine is difficult to start when cold. This is because the advance mechanism is locked down as the base plate is badly worn. I have a complete distributor body to go in, I think it's ok and the bonus is that it's polished and would look good with the rocker covers.
Door mirrors are from Jaguar XJS and are electric but not connected. I have what is required to wire them.
Window lift motors are very slow, passenger side hardly moves. I have 2 spare motors, (1 is new old stock).
All things considered I'm looking for £3750 ono
