In actuallity, Jesus was both fully human and fully divine. However some tend to see Jesus as completely divine. This is just simply not the case. There are many ways in which Jesus is completely human. To even begin to understand Jesus the Christ we have to first understand Jesus the human. Here are some examples of Jesus' humanity:
Jesus was born from his mother's womb just like the rest of us. He grew up like any other kid in his age going to school and learning his father's trade(carpenter) and, as all young Jews did, reading scripture. As a child he broke the rules, getting lost in the temple, and he obeyed his parents taking the consquences. Jesus didn't know anything about his future or about what his life would bring him to. It wasn't until when Jesus was about 30 years of age and was baptized that his ministry was revealed to him. We see examples of Jesus' humanity during his ministry as well. Jesus, like us, at times became angery and couldn't control his anger. We see this in scriptures when he overturned tables and kicked merchants out of the temple. Jesus also just liked to hang out. He liked to go to parties and socialize with people. Jesus also felt death like the rest of us. When his friend Lazuras died, the scriptures say, he wept. He cried his eyes out. Jesus also had to deal with temptation. When he was in the desert he had to resist some of the greatest things anyone has ever been offered. Naturally like a human he was tempted to say "ok." Yet he resisted Satan. Overall Jesus was just a likeable guy. He was a great speaker and a great friend. He showed great compassion and feeling for people and people felt for that. Jesus had charism. This is one of the main reasons people followed him. Even as he neared the end of his life Jesus showed his humanity. In the Garden, Jesus sweat blood. Jesus was so scared of dying like any of us would be that he literally sweat blood. Jesus was tough though and with God's help he was brave and pressed on. Even on the cross Jesus shows his humanity when he doubts God saying, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Jesus was trully human.
