Double Four Patch
You will need:
Lots of Beautiful Scraps
Muslin
Quilt Batting
Quilters Basting Spray
 
For a Twin Size Quilt
Cut 306 - 3 1/2 inch squares of scrap fabric
Cut 77 - 6 1/2 inch squares of muslin
Muslin Backing 70" x 90"
 
Sew Scrap Fabrics together in 2's
Sew 2's units together to make 4's
Sew 4's to Muslin squares in strips of 11 as follows
7 strips ABABABABABA
7 strips BABABABABAB
Sew the long strips together making a checkerboard
 
Sewing Strips
Enjoy!
I used Quilters Basting Spray to get ready for tying.
Spread the backing out on the floor wrong side up.
Spread the batting on top of it, nice and even
Pick up one half of the batting
Spray the back (not the batting)
Lay the batting back down and pat in place
Repeat with the other half
Spread the quilt top on the batting right side up
Pick up one half of the top
Spray the wrong side of the top (not the batting)
Lay the top back down and pat in place
Repeat with the other half
 
Tie at the corners of the blocks

Fold the backing around to the top, making a border
Stitch down from the top tucking in a small hem

I like scrap quilts because you can use lots of fun fabrics together.
I even have a few scraps of my favorite Harry Potter Fabric
