Our new year starts in 21st of March and we have 2weeks holiday every year. We start our new year in spring because we believe that all creatures start their new life in this season. we prepare a very nice symbolic spread and put apple(sib in Persian), garlic(sir),vegetables(sabzi) and .... until we have 7 food which starts by "s" in Persian language(as symbols of boons) .Then we add blossom of wheat(as a symbol of nature) and a mirror as a symbol of clear heart and also a candle as a symbol of light and finally our Holly Koran(Moslems Holly Book). It is optional to adding another things like a watch to know the exact time of new year, small red fish as a symbol of life..... On the end of old year we'll wait for nice spring and celebrate it.
