General Exchange Rules (for ALL CT Exchanges)

These are general overall rules in addition
to the rules each exchange coordinator has in place.

1. You must have a valid email address
and must be the same email used to join Crochet Talk.

2. You must provide any database information
and a JIC (if required)
to the coordinator of the group before
you are approved as a member
and have access to the group pages.

3. Once approved and ready to exchange you must:
Communicate!
It is a key factor to making any exchange work well
and an enjoyment to all who are a part.

*Acknowledge to the coordinator you have received your assignment
and/or partner information in a timely manner

*Send a "Puffy Alert" to your partner when you mail out your item
also blind carbon copying (bcc) to the coordinator.

*Send a "Thank You" to your partner and exchange group
DETAILING
what you received.
A post to our Crochet Talk group is nice, but not required.

4. Mailing Deadlines
Assignments must be mailed in a timely manner
in order for your partner to recieve it before the deadline-
In the case of monthly exchanges,
your assignment must be mailed
at least one week prior to the posted deadline...
For exchanges that are longer than a month,
your assignment must be mailed out
at least 2 weeks prior to the posted deadline.
Please also let your coordinator know when you mail, this is required.

5. Being tardy
Best advice- Don't be....
1st time you mail late
(without a specific and valid reason the coordinator is aware of well before it's late)
you will be suspsended for a "1 round" time period.
Not just in the exchange in which you are late,
but in each and every exchange you are participating in.
2nd time- you will be suspended from participation
for a 6 month time period in each and every exchange.
3rd time- You will be removed as a member of that exchange
and not eligible for any exchange at Crochet Talk.

6. Adding extra "goodies" to your puffies.
This is NOT required but up to each individual who is mailing.
Everyone has different financial situations
so adding tea bags, little things from the dollar store, etc
are very nice and are allowed but again not required.
It's always nice to have a bio from your partner including an email,
so a personal thank you is easily sent.
Free pattern sheets are always a nice touch and a fun addition.

Note:
This rules may seem harsh or mean, they are not meant that way in the least.
They have been written to ensure that each member will be aware of what's expected
when joining an exchange and each member will abide by the same general rules.
It really isn't the coordinators job to have to
keep reminding each member to mail, post a thank you or respond to an email-
their job is to be a part of a fun exchange.
