Kerbside Easter Egg Run  -  24th March 2002

We turned up at The Leopard to find a shivering Bally making his debut on his GP.  ‘We’ included Mossy, Graham, Dan, Bally and me (Craig).  As ever we set off late and needed a petrol stop, plus some easter eggs.

Bally was freezing so it was off to Conisbrough to get his warmer togs.

We got to Bally’s residence and he disappeared into his house, coming out after 10 minutes with a petrol can and a massive industrial size funnel, for one minute I thought he was going to set himself on fire as a means to get warm.  An extra layer of clothing and we got on our way (at last) !!

Trouble free ride and we made the meeting place of Kerbside SC in good time.  We arrived to find quite a few there, and made our way into the pub for a cuppa / pee / fag / chinwag, whatever !!

The ride out left at 11:00am prompt the Kerbside boys acting as marshals and holding up the traffic so the 200 or so scooterists could proceed together.  It moved at good pace and we were soon in a town centre car park in Chesterfield.

Now we thought that was it (having not been before) but we found out they stop there for 15 minutes and then head off for the hospital ??

Time was getting on and a few us wanted to get back home to get other things done so we decided to head off home up the M1.  We handed our easter eggs to the Kerbside van driver and got on our way.

Low and behold we stopped at the petrol station and while we were filling up the procession passed on its way to the hospital.

On the M1 Dan, Mossy and Bally decided to stretch their legs so to speak, but Dan’s bike reminded him he has not run it in, heat seizing, doing 80 plus (so he says) !!

He slowed down and kept with Graham and me and we got home okay.

No rain, nice leisurely ride out, most enjoyable.

Recommend it next year.
