Tom's Kommittee Knapsack

Welcome to our new page

A Pack Committee Chairman is a person of good character, familiar with organizational procedures, who has a deep concern for the Pack's success, is respected in the community, and who shows the willingness and ability to be the Cubmaster's chief adviser.

That job description fits Tom perfectly and we are grateful to have him assist in leading our Pack !

We ask that all parents participate in some way in our activities. We also ask that you step up and join our Pack Committee so that your ideas and talents can become a benefit to all of our boys.

YOU CAN, Yes --> U <-- CAN

"HELP THE PACK TO GROW" !

YOU will have FUN, too !!!

It's time to begin planning for 2002-2003. In May, the scouts were promoted and our summer activities were a perfect start on the achievements and electives for their new rank. Day Camp provided the opportunity for lots of fun and rank recognition, too.

We will again attempt to form a Committee for running the Pack business; the Leaders have the operational side down pat. Wesley United Methodist Church, the Chartered Organization, has pledged to help us form the Committee. I have a few parent volunteers now.

Our goal is to have, at least, one Parent Representative from each Den rank level, i.e., Tigers, Wolves, etc., for each Den Leader participating in Committee activities. The Committee will also spearhead task groups, headed by non-Leader parents, for Popcorn, Parade, Pinewood Derby, etc.. The Committee would meet once each quarter; October, January, April and one late summer planning session.

The Cub Scout helps the Pack Go and the Pack helps the Cub Scout Grow.
Be Akela and support the Pack before having to be asked by the leadership.
