Company “G” was consolidated 24 Oct. 1863 with Companies "B", "D", and "I". Company officers at the regiment’s organization, 29 Nov. 1861, are as follows: William B. Vancleave Jr., Capt., Escaped capture at Island No. 10. He escaped from the hospital after the regiments surrender. Resigned 24 June 1862 at Tupelo, Ms., and was succeeded by P. H. Randle. Rennolds' History, page 219, captured at Island No. 10, discharged at the regiments reorganization. Robert Maddox, 1st Lt., Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio, transferred to Johnson's Island, 26 April 1862. He was exchanged in Sept. 1862. Elected 2nd Lt., 30 Sept. 1862. Records show that he was a county enrolling officer in the 9th District. Rennolds' History, page 219, captured recruiting in Henry Co., Tn, served through the war. Thomas J. Rascoe, lst Sgt., Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill. Took the oath to the U. S. while in prison. He was discharged 30 Aug. 1862. Lived in Henry Co., Tn. (M. L. Rasco/ Marcus Roscoe, National Archives). Rennolds' History, page 220, lst Sgt. - Rascoe escaped capture at Island No. 10, joined the Federals. F. M. Hastings, 2nd Sgt., (Francis M. Hastings, age 27), stated he joined the regiment at Union City, Tn. Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill. Exchanged 23 Sept. 1862, Vicksburg Ms. Elected 2nd Lt., 30 Sept. 1862 at the reorganization. His name appears on an inspection report, dated 15 Sept. 1864, at Lovejoy Station, Ga. (Marion Hastings). Rennolds' History, page 220, F. Marion Hastings, captured on recruiting service, wounded at Atlanta, Ga. and Bentonville, N. C., served through the war, present at the surrender. Parents were, James M. Hastings, born in Orange Co., N. C., and Nancy Smith, daughter of Joel Smith. F. M. Hastings was living in Paris, Henry Co., Tn., 24 Mar. 1922. Tn. Confederate Pension # 4280.
