His first wife was Josephine and his 2nd wife was Mary E. Holsapple Outland. Mary received a Confederate Widows pension from Ky. 6 June 1921, pension # 4066. Josiah died 6 March 1921 and is buried in the Outland Cemetery No. 2 in Calloway Co., Ky. Mary E. Outland is also buried in the Outland Cemetery, born 7 March 1852 and died 8 Sept. 1924. Workman, Jefferson Porter, He enlisted in the Confederate service in Oct. 1861. Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill. He took the oath to the U. S. while in prison, and was discharged 30 Aug. 1862. Lived in Henry Co., Tn., (Jeff Workman). Born in 1835, Weakley Co.,Tn. He filed for a Ky. Confederate Pension on. 4 May 1912, no information was found on whether or not he received it. Jefferson P. Workman was a member of the James P. Pirtle U. C. V. Camp #9990, in Fulton, Ky., until his death in 1919. He is buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Fulton, Ky. next to his wife, Narcissus "Sis" Hammond. She was 77 when she died. He married lst, Mary Lewis in 1857, Henry Co., Tn., 2nd, Catherine Taylor in 1869, Carroll Co., Tn. John is listed as serving in Co.”E” of the 46th Tn. Inf. Moving to Missouri after 1880, purchasing land in Dunklin County from the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway Co. in 1887 and 1890. He was the son of the Rev. Josephus and Rhoda V. Outland. He was member of Co. "E" of the 46th Tn. Inf. for part of the war, and also served in Co. “G” of the 12th Ky. Cav. Enlisting in the later, 20 April 1864 in Murray, Ky. Engaged at Brices Cross Roads, Ms., Hood's Nashville Campaign, (Tennessee Campaign), and was with General N. B. Forrest. Surrendered at Eastport, Ms. in 1865. Josiah was a member of the H. B. Lyon U. C. V. Camp #1259 in Murray, Ky. and received a Confederate Pension from Ky., 25 July 1912, # 355. |
