Wilson.  Captain Weldon lived in the 23rd District.
G. P. Chilcutt/George Chilcutt, lst Lt., age 28, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.  He died while in prison,
11 May 1862, and is buried in the Confederate Cemetery, grave # 2078, Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio.

Morgan, 2nd Lt., age 19, Captured at home while on sick leave, 20 March 1862, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.  Transferred to Johnson's Island, 26 April 1862.  Lt.Morgan took the oath to the U.S. while in prison, 9 July 1862.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn. Rennolds' History, page 196, Alex Morgan, 2nd Lt., died at home.
Cullin Phillips, 3rd Lt., age 40, Escaped capture at Island No.10. Lived in Henry Co., Tn. (wife, Elizabeth).
R. B. Lowery/Robert Lowery, lst Sgt., age 30, Records show he was reduced in rank, 17 Jan. 1862.  Deserted 20 March 1862 at Island No.10.  He is listed in Rennolds' History, page 196, as escaping at Island No. 10.
T. J. Chilcutt, 2nd Sgt., age 25, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  He died while in prison, 3 Aug. 1862 and is buried in the Confederate section of the National Cemetery in Springfield, Ill., grave # 673. (Thomas Chilcutt).
J. W. Chilcutt, 3rd Sgt., age 23, (Warren Shilcutt), Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  He died while in prison 1 June 1862 and is buried in the Confederate section of the National Cemetery, Springfield, Illl., grave # 552. (The records at the National Archives state J. W. Chilcutt escaped from Camp Butler, 1 June 1862), (?).  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.
George Roberts, 4th Sgt., Escaped capture at Island No. 10, Rennolds' History, page 196.
Andrew M. Wilson, 5th Sgt., age 23, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  Escaped from prison, 1 July 1862.  He returned to the regiment, Oct. 1862.  Captured 28 July 1864 near Atlanta, Ga., (Ezra Church), and was sent to Camp Douglas, Ill. Forwarded to Point Lookout, Md. for exchange, 14 March 1865.  He was the son of Greenberry and Frances Wilson of Henry Co., Tn.
Atlas Morton, lst Cpl., age 28, Escaped capture at Island No. 10. Lived in Henry Co., Tn.  He also served in Co. “F” of the 20th Tn. Cav. as a 3rd Lt. He is buried in the Point Pleasant Cemetery in Henry Co., Tn. (Tn.  Confederate Pension # 3225, A. J. Morton).
H. A. Chilcutt/Hugh Chilcutt, 2nd Cpl., age 22, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  Died while in prison, 8 June 1862 and is buried in the Confederate section of the National Cemetery, Springfield, Ill., grave # 590.

and was never exchanged.
Addy, J. S., (Company not known), This man is listed in Tennesseans in the Civil War, Vol. 2, page 10, and the Index to Tennessee Confederate Pension Applications, page 2, as being in the 46th Tn. Inf.  He is buried in the Old Hermitage Church Cemetery in Nashville, Tn.  Born 9 Jan. 1836, died 26 Sept. 1916 at the Confederate Veterans Home, Nashville, Tn.  His tombstone states he was in the 46th Miss. Inf.(?), grave # 320. (Tn.  Confederate Pension # 3910).  Mr. Addy was living in Sumner Co., Tn. in the 1890's.
Alexander, Devro J., age 17, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  He took the oath to the U. S. while in prison.

Calloway, W. R., age 26, Joined the Confederate service, May 1861 under Col. William Travis, Co. “G” 5th Tn. Inf.  Re-enlisted Oct.1862 under Col. J.S. Dawson in the 46th Tn. Inf.

Champion, age 30, Joined the regiment at Island No. 10, Feb.- Mar. 1862.  Escaped capture at Island No. 10 8 April 1862, because he was on sick furlough.  Records show he deserted at Port Hudson, La.  Lived in Obion Co., Tn. Chilcutt, S. J. This name is filed at the National Archives under T.J. Chilcutt.  No other information can be found on him.
Coleman, T. C./Travis C. Coleman,
age 28, Born in Rockingham Co., N.C. to Tilman Coleman and Jeanette Walker.  He was discharged, 18 Dec. 1861.  Employed a substitute and re-enlisted Oct. 1862.  The substitute was W. F. Henderson of Co. "A". Rennolds' History, page 197, wounded at Kennesaw, Ga. by cannon shot.  His wife was Frances Jane Wilson, 1860 Henry Co., Tn.
Census.  Travis C. Coleman is a brother to an ancestor of the compiler, James Tilman Coleman of Calloway Co., Ky.
Coleman, W. H./Henry Coleman, Escaped capture at Island No. 10 and did not return to the regiment.  He lived in Henry Co., Tn.  He is buried in the Mt.  Pleasant Cemetery in Henry Co. Born 7 Aug. 1841 and died 11 Feb. 1922.  His wife was I. J. Coleman.

Randle, H. S., age 18, Escaped capture at Island No. 10.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.  His name appears on a hospital list at Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Ga., dated 20 Sept. 1864.  He also served in Co.”F” of the 20th Tn. Cav., (Russell's Tn. Cav.). Henry Smith Randle, Tn.  Confederate Pension # 15684, Crockett Co., Tn., Alamo area.  In a Tennessee Veterans Questionnaire, Henry S. Randle stated he joined with Nathan Bedford Forrest in Sept. 1863 and was in eight battles and skirmishes. “I transferred back to the 46th Tn.  Reg. when it was with Johnson”,(Gen. Joseph E. Johnston).  He was the son of Richard Whitlow Randle, born in N. C., and Lydia Almina Canan, daughter of Martin and Ariminta Canan.  They were strict members of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
Rataree, Asa, age 30, Escaped capture at Island No. 10, did not return to the regiment, (A. C. Rataree).  Asa C. Ratterree, 1841-1911, is buried in the Ratterree Cemetery in Henry Co., Tn.
Ray, John, age 41, Joined the regiment Oct. 1862 at Jackson, Ms. Records show he left at Jackson, Ms. when the city was evacuated by Gen.Joseph E. Johnston.

Smoot, John, age 28, Escaped capture at Island No. 10.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.  He was captured at Columbia, Tn., 22 Dec. 1864, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.  While a prisoner in Nashville, Tn., records dated Jan. 1865, show he was wounded at Franklin, Tn., 30 Nov. 1864. Townly, J. L., age 27, He joined the Confederate service, Oct. of 1861, under the direction of Col. J. S. Dawson.  Records show he was in St. Mary's Hospital, LaGrange, Ga., 15 July 1864. *Two Townley's are listed in Rennolds' History, page 199, with no first names given.  These are probably the two missing names.
Trousdale, A. C., age 21, He enlisted in the Confederate service May of 1861, in Paris, Tn., under the direction of Col. William E. Travis of the 5th Tn.  Inf.  He re-enlisted Oct. 1862 under Col. J. S. Dawson in the 46th Tn.  Inf.  Buried in the Bethel Cem. in Henry Co., Tn.  His wife, H. E. Trousdale, 23 July 1851 – 22 Aug. 1882, Bethel Cemetery, Henry Co., Tn.
Trousdale, Felix G., age 17, Escaped capture at Island No. 10. Re-enlisted Oct. of 1862.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.  F. G. Trousdale's name also appears in Co. “G” of the 5th Tn. Inf.  Buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Henry Co., Tn., 29 Sept. 1844 - 5 Nov. 1897. His wife, Eunice  Trousdale, 17 Aug. 1845 - 13 Sept. 1912, is also buried in the Bethel Cemetery.
Upchurch, George W., age 23, This name also appears in Co. "A" of the 5th Tn.  Inf.  He is listed in Co. "A" of the 46th Tn.  Inf. In the National Archives.  George W. Upchurch re-enlisted Oct. 1862, under the direction of Col. J. S. Dawson of the 46th Tn. Inf.
Vaughn, Thomas, age 21, Escaped capture at Island No. 10.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn., (T.  M. Vaughn, National Archives).  Thomas M. Vaughn also served in Co. “F” of the 20th Tn. Cav.  Born 6 May 1841, died 22 April 1923.  Buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Henry Co., Tn.
Venable, James L., age 19, He was furloughed home, 15 Feb. 1862. The reason was not given.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.
Venable, J. M., age 23, Enlisted in the Confederate service May of 1861, under the direction of William E. Travis, in Co. "G" of the 5th Tn. Inf.  Re-enlisted Oct. 1862 under Col. Jonathan S. Dawson in the 46th Tn. Inf. (James M. Venable). S/o Larkin&Frances.
Venable, John B., age 22, Furloughed home, 15 Feb. 1862, did not return to the regiment.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.s/o Larkin&Frances.
Walker, David, age 17, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler, Ill.  Died while in prison, 18 June 1862 and is buried in the National Cemetery , Confederate section, grave # 613, Springfield, Ill.
Wallace, B. F., age 27, Enlisted in the regiment Oct. 1862, under the direction of Col. J. S. Dawson.  Discharged 22 Feb. 1864 reason was not given.  He was born in Lunenburg, Va., Ben Wallace.
According to Rennolds' History, page 199, Ben Wallace escaped Island No. 10, returned to the regiment and served through the war.
Watson, S. Y., Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Butler,Ill.  Exchanged 23 Sept. 1862.  Reported as deserting at Port Hudson, La., March 1863.  He was captured 16 March 1863 and took the oath to the U. S., 26 March.  Mr. Watson also served in Co.“F” of the 20th Tn. Cav.  Rennolds' History, page 199, escaped Island No. 10, enlisted in the cavalry.
Western, A. W., Listed in Tennesseans in the Civil War, Vol. 2, page 426, (Tn.  Confederate Pension # 12917, Henry Co., Tn.).
Weston, A. M., age 26, Escaped capture at Island No. 10 and did not return to the regiment, National Archives.  Lived in Henry Co., Tn.
Weston, J. M., age 28, Records at the National Archives show this man was captured at Island No. 10, April 1862.  The records also show that he was "supposedly killed by the enemy at Island No. 10, April 1862".

Williams, J. M., Transferred to Capt.  Edward Fitzgerald's Co. “F”, Col.  Preston Smith's Regiment, (154th Sr. Tn. Inf.).
Willoughby, W. T. H., age 24, Records show he surrendered at Island No. 10 and took the oath to the U. S. while in prison. Records also show him dying in prison, 1 May 1862, at St. Louis, Mo. (?).  He was admitted, 26 April 1862, to the General Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., being transferred from the U. S. Steamer, "Empress".  Rennolds' History, page 199, a William Willoughby was captured at Island No. 10, served through the war. (Listed in the Index to Confederate Pension Applications, page 167, a William H. Willoughby received a pension, #7342, Henry Co., Tn.)
Wilson, Joseph D., Sgt. Maj., Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Chase, Ohio, transferred to Johnson's Island.  Exchanged 23 Sept. 1862. Elected captain 30 Sept. 1862.  Promoted to major, 21 Oct. 1863 and later promoted to Lt. Col., 21 Oct. 1863. Captured, 28 July 1864, at Ezra Church, near Atlanta, Ga.  He had a gun shot wound to the right side.  He was sent to Johnson's Island, Ohio.  Took the oath to the U. S., 25 July 1865 and was released.  He was age 41, the son of Greenberry and Frances Wilson of Henry Co., Tn. Joseph Dillard Wilson was born in Virginia and died in Tn.  Married Annie Cox, U. D. C. # 521570.
Wilson, Robert A., age 28, He enlisted in the 7th Ala. Inf., Feb. 1862, at, Stephenson, Ala., under the direction of a Col. Wood, serving with this regiment until his enlistment expired, (National Archives).  He enlisted Oct. 1862 under Col. J. S. Dawson in the 46th Tn. Inf.  His name appears on a roll of soldiers employed for extra duty, dated Jan. 1- 5, 1864, serving as a wagon master at Dalton, Ga.  Listed previously as a wagon master in Mobile, Ala., Nov. and Dec. of 1863.  Wounded at Ezra Church, Ga., 28 July 1864, and was put on light duty until his surrender, June of 1865. Records at the National Archives also show him serving in Napier's Cav.  Son of Greenberry and Frances Wilson of Henry Co., Tn. Served longer than any other man in the county. Tn. Confederate pension # 2151.
Winchester, W. S., age 26, Captured at Island No. 10, sent to Camp Douglas, Ill.  He took the oath to the U. S. while at Camp Douglas.  Records at the National Archives also show him being furloughed home, captured and then taking the oath.  He was released 15 July 1862.  Rennolds, History, page 199, William Winchester, escaped at Island No. 10.
Wiseheart, George, age 22, Escaped capture at Island No. 10. Lived in Henry Co., Tn.  He did not return to the regiment. (G. W. Wiseheart, 23rd District, Henry Co., Tn.).
Wright, John, age 27, Died' at Island No. 10, while in camp, 10 Feb. 1862.  Rennolds' History, page 199, died of the measles. (J. L. Right).
