The Wand

The wand is one of the major magickal tools, which has been used for centuries. Most commonly used for invocation, it can also be used to direct energy and scribe symbols or the circle in the dirt.

The wand represents the element of Air.

It is linked to the God.

Finding or Making a Wand

Any fairly straight piece of wood can be used as a wand, you can then carve or paint it to make it your own. There are traditional woods used for different types of wands (see Herb Magick for specifics). Some say a wand should be the distance from the crook of the elbow to the tip of the forefinger, this is a good length but not necessary. In addition to wooden wands there are quite a few metal and crystal wands available through mail order suppliers.
