WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. and LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--
July 14, 1998--Paxson Communications Corp. (AMEX:PAX) and MGM
Worldwide Television Group, a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
(NYSE:MGM), will keep the legendary dolphin Flipper in the TV waters
on PAX NET for the next four years as announced Tuesday by Bill Scott,
president of programming for Paxson Communications, and John P. Symes,
president, MGM Worldwide Television Group. Flipper: The New Adventures
episodes will be produced for MGM by Village Roadshow Pictures which
has been part of the production and distribution of all the recent
episodes of Flipper.

The new pact has MGM licensing 88 episodes to PAX NET, the
national family entertainment network set to launch nationwide on
August 31st. MGM International Television Distribution will distribute
all 88 episodes worldwide. Production of the series' third season is
currently underway in Australia.

adventure to anchor our Saturday evening original programming line-up
as well as to launch new episodes starring the most popular dolphin of
all time. Flipper: The New Adventures has become an American icon,
representing the most classic 'beach TV' series of the entire genre."

Flipper: The New Adventures, a weekly one-hour family adventure
that is an extension of the classic TV series, stars a talented young
cast including Whip Hubley ("Top Gun") as Sergeant Tom Hampton, a
Florida Keys marine biologist whose enduring friend is the amazing
dolphin Flipper. The new, fast-paced action series focuses on highly
dramatic air and sea rescues involving Flipper and his human
companions as well as the human challenges, setbacks and triumphs
faced by Flipper's friends every week.
