FIRST FALL:
Robinson pins Bockwinkel
Bockwinkel and Robinson squared off against each other to open the match. The champions held the upper hand through most of the fall, each taking turns pummeling Robinson with chokes, stomps and punches while the other distracted the referee. Finally Robinson mangaged to tag Crusher, who softened up Bockwinkel enough that Robinson was able to return and pin him to take the first fall.

SECOND FALL:
Stevens pins Robinson
Robinson and Crusher wiped the mat with the champs in fall two and looked like sure winners until Stevens ducked Robinson's second straight attempt to shoulder block him. Robinson hit the ropes throat-first and toppled over backwards. Bockwinkel followed up with a punch to the throat, rendering Billy helpless and an easy victim of Stevens' body press to even the match.

THIRD FALL:

Crusher is counted out

The end came unexpectedly as Crusher knocked Bockwinkel from the ring with his patented "bolo punch." Crusher followed Nick out, but was stomped in the head by Stevens. Bockwinkel then bashed Crusher's head into the ringpost. As the ref neared the "10" count, Bockwinkel managed to crawl back under the ropes, but The Crusher, dazed and bleeding, could not and he was counted out to end the match.

THE CRUSHER PROTESTS

Bloodied and wild-eyed, The Crusher protests the decision, but to no avail. Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens retained the tag team title on this night in Chicago, but it was Crusher and Robinson who would eventually dethrone the duo in Green Bay, Wisconsin nine months later.
