Molly was lying in bed trying to calm the headache that had taken residence in her head, when AJ arrived. Kim Ann had decided to go and check out the jazz club down the street. Molly heard AJ say hello to Skylar and comment on how great she looked.
Kevin, Skylar and AJ walked into the living room and Molly was startled to hear their voices crystal clear. She bent her head down beside the bed and realised that the central air vent in her bedroom connected to the air duct in the living room. She curled up in bed and started to eavesdrop on the conversation. She felt bad about invading AJ's privacy but there was nothing she could do.

"So Bone what's up? I mean I thought you would have been sleeping or out with friends on your first night home?" Skylar smiled at her friend and asked.
"Everyone is out, mom is pulling the stay home and rest argument and I slept all day. I would normally talk to Howie but this sort of involves him and you two are the only other ones that I trust with this discussion."
"AJ what is it, my God you sound so serious" Kevin asked concerned. AJ took a deep breath " Well you know how close Molly and I have become, right? Well all this time I have been hanging out with her and joking with her and helping her with the Howie situation. Well the other night after the incident in the bar I went back to Molly's room and I held her in my arms all night and as I listened to her cry and sob I realised that I was in love with her. I fell for my tour manager..." AJ's eyes filled with tears as he told his confession to his two friends. " I am in a rough spot because I know how much Howie likes her and I know that she is attracted to him; where do I fit in this situation?"
Skylar got off the sofa and walked across the carpet and hugged AJ "AJ you are her best friend, she trusted you with her secret before anyone else. She kept that hidden for years and she finally broke her silence to you. She has to care about you deeply for her to do that. Yes she likes Howie but come on, have you ever hinted to her that your friendship feelings for her had turned into something more? It is not fair to say that she doesn't feel the same way about you because you have never asked her."
Molly sat up in bed and ignoring the pounding in her temple, she let out a silent "Oh my God AJ is in love with me" and then brought her knees up to her chin and rested her chin on her knees as she listened to the rest of the conversation.
"AJ I wish there was something I could say but all I am managing to think is...Only you..only you could find a woman who has ties to Howie's past and feelings that go even deeper.Only you could fall for the same woman that your best friend likes and only you could fall for our tour manager," Kevin slapped AJ's back and smiled "Well buddy I guess you have some serious thinking to do this week huh?"
AJ looked at Kevin with a serious face and nodded.
Molly laid awake in the dark and thought about AJ's confession. The man who she had shared her secrets with, the man who had lifted her confidence whenever she got down and the man who held her while she cried had just confessed to her friends that he loved her and she didn't know what to think. She heard AJ say goodbye to Kevin and Skylar and she heard the roar of his engine as he backed out of their laneway. She waited a couple of minutes to be sure and then she walked downstairs where Kevin and Skylar were talking quietly and intently about AJ's confession. Skylar's head jerled up when she heard Molly eneter the room and she smiled. "Hi.....how is your head?"
"A little better but not much. So what did Alex want?" Molly asked playing dumb.
"He was just bored and missing the tour, normal AJ stuff." Kevin lied.
"Oh, okay I was really worried about him but now that I know it wasn't anything serious I am going back to bed. ‘Night" Molly walked out of the room and upstairs.
"Think she believed us?" Kevin asked.
"Nope, my bet is she heard the whole thing..did you see her face, she
knows.
I am calling Kim Ann to let her know it is safe to come back and then I
suggest you and I go upstairs and spend some quality time together.
Judging
from the action and adventure that has taken place in the first 24 hours
of
your vacation I can only see it getting more hectic as the week wears on
and
as Howie, AJ and Molly come face to face with what is bothering them. We
are
going to need our strength. Besides I haven't felt your arms around me
in a
while and I miss that." Skylar stood onher tiptoes to kiss Kevin's lips
and
after she had called Kim Ann the two lovers walked arm in arm upstairs.
