Chapter 6

"Wow...it's really you," Denise muttered, still somewhat in shock with Howie standing right in front of her.

"Damn Howie...move over and share for a few minutes," Nick groaned as he pushed his friend out of the way and kissed Denise's hand.

"Hi Nicky," she grinned, reaching up to hug the guy who was a good 6 inches taller than she. She felt Nick tickle her sides, causing a shriek to escape her. "That's for calling me Nicky," he chuckled as she struggled to regain her composure.

"Domino's Pizza....as if...." AJ moaned as he shook his finger at her before hugging her as well.

"Sorry Bone, couldn't help myself," she laughed. She looked over to see Kevin, Brian and Howie talking to Liane.

"Well ladies, we've got to shower, but we won't be long. We should be back in about 20 minutes, so think about what you want to eat," AJ told them as he kissed Liane's hand again.

"15 minutes..." said Denise.

"10" said Howie and smiled at her, finally kissing her hand.

The guys left the room, closing the door behind them. "Holy cow!!" Denise sighed as she flopped down into the chair. "I was NOT ready to open my eyes and be faced with Howie," she giggled. "Is he not the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?"

"I don't know....I was too busy watching AJ!" Liane admitted with a blush, sending the two girls into a fit of laughter as they hugged each other.

The guys came back shortly, Howie still toweling his loose, wet hair. Denise gulped audibly.

"Well, ladies, you'll have to forgive us two soon to be wed guys, we need to go home to call our honies tonight." said Kevin.

"I understand... and congratulations!" said Liane.

"Thanks!" said Brian. "it's not going to be easy for Kristin and Leighanne... those girls are wonderful to put up with this."

"It would be hard." sympathized Liane.

"To make it up to Brian and I would love to take you two to breakfast tomorrow,"

"Oh... thanks!" said Li. Gosh, could these guys be any sweeter?

"But tonight, babygirl..." said AJ in a sexy growl, putting his hand around Liane's waist "you are ours. We found an all night tattoo parlor..."

"TONIGHT!?" laughed Li "We're doing the tattoos TONIGHT!?"

"Well... if you don't chicken out..." said AJ fluttering his fingers through Li's hair, making her feel very very very aware of him.

"I won't."

"That's amazing." said Denise, laughing. 'You do know that Liane is Marion the librarian."

"You're a LIBRARIAN?" said Nick.

"Yes, and proud of it." pouted Li.

"A very yummy librarian." cooed AJ in her ear causing her blush to extend down her neck.

"Oh, God... I'm sorry... I can't stand it... I have to touch that hair..." Denise put her fingers up into Howie's still damp tresses. "Sweet Lord, this is paradise."

"Oh no, this isn't even half of it," Howie assured her, catching her hand. "Just you wait until a bit later...you, me, ice cream, champagne...."

Denise's gaze was locked to Howie's as he spoke. "Careful Howie, you're going to make her pass slam out before we even get out of the arena," Liane giggled.

"Oh stop it! I will not!" Denise threw back, regaining her composure. "Speaking of ice cream, I'm hungry! Let's go get some food!"

"Mouth of the south strikes again," Liane continued to laugh at her friend. As if on cue there was a knock at the greenroom door.

"Excuse me?" It was George the limo driver. "The snow is coming down heavier. If we hurry we can get you to the hotel before they start closing the roads. I'm afraid you'll have to do dinner at the hotel though."

"Well ladies, I think that's our cue to skedaddle out of here," AJ said, slipping his arm around Liane and steering her towards the door. "Where are the other three?"

"Sir, they've gone ahead in another limo," George answered, leading the two pairs down the corridor to where the limo was parked, opening the door for them with a flourish.

Denise watched AJ and Liane slip inside. "After you," she heard Howie whisper behind her, feeling his breath against her neck, sending a shiver through her.

"Are you cold?" Howie asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Cold? Not at all," she smiled over her shoulder as she stepped into the car. The four talked and joked around during the short drive to the hotel.

"Here we are," AJ informed them as they pulled up to the huge, luxurious hotel.

"Wow!" Denise mumbled in awe. "I've never even come CLOSE to staying somewhere like this..." she trailed off as George opened the door for them. They stepped out into the blowing snow, the girls' hair getting whipped around them. She watched as AJ ran over to a patch of lawn and scooped up a handful of snow, packing it loosely and tossing it at Liane.

"Hey!! No fair!" Liane shrieked, running over and grabbing a handful herself and aiming for AJ's head. Next AJ took aim at Howie and before anyone knew it the four of them were in an all out snowball fight in front of the hotel. When they finally stopped, they were all four out of breath and soaked to the skin.

"Oh sweet jesus we are a mess!" Denise groaned as she attempted to shake snow from her hair.

"A sexy mess though," Howie assured her with a wink, noticing that her catsuit was now totally plastered against her skin.

"Ok...a cold, sexy mess. Can we go inside now?? I don't know what we're going to do for dinner though! We didn't bring another dressy outfit, but we can't go to dinner wet either!!" Denise moaned as the guys led them into the warmth of the hotel lobby.

"Eh, just put on any ol thing... they won't mind. You're with us." said AJ winking.

They went up to their rooms and for a moment Liane and Denise just stood openmouthed, gaping at the beauty and luxury of the suite the Boys had got for them.

"Well, Princess Dee, shall we dress for the ball?" giggled Liane.

"Oh, yes, Lady Li, by all means."

They took a quick shower and Liane put on a longsleeved scoopneck gray leotard and a long black Martha Graham-esqe skirt.

"OK, she shows her true colors again."

"Hush up, you. I didn't have time to go out and but more plumage. Besides, this is one of my favorite outfits. It makes me feel arty." She pulled on black tights and slipped her feeet into black ballet shoes.

"Are those actually ballet shoes?" said Denise.

"Yes, and they are the most comfortable things ever. I figure we're not going back out so I might as well. I told you I was taking dance classes, didn't I?"

"No! Hey, that's pretty cool." said Denise, as she changed. "Dancing and Hapkido. You're a regular party gal."

"Why I oughta..."

"That's my line." said AJ from the doorway. "Oooh, babygirl, look at you. You looks gorgeous."

Liane blushed and twirled her skirt flowing around her. "Nah, but comfy."

"Take it from me." said AJ. sliding a hand around her slim waist, "You look gorgeous. But bad news, girls, the snow is really really falling, and we won't be able to get to the tattoo parlor."

"I'm glad." said Li, "I need more time to decide what to get."

"Where's Howie?" asked Denise.

"Howie? I'm not good enough for ya?" AJ sniffed, pretending to be offended by her question.

"AJ, you are more than good enough...but Howie....there's just something...."

"Whoa. Stop right there. I DO NOT want to hear the gory details about Howie," AJ stiffled a laugh. "Your romeo takes more damn time than a woman to get ready. He was still primping that hair you adore so much, so he said he'd meet us downstairs. I told him I was going to wisk the two of you away instead," he added with an evil cackle.

Denise straightened her simple black mini and white sleeveless blouse, taking one more final glance in the mirror as AJ groaned. "Good lord woman, come on! You look mahvelous," he assured her. "Damn if you and Howie aren't just about made for each other," he sighed as he crooked out both of his arms, taking Liane on one side and Denise on the other. "Shall we ladies?"

"Yes! I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!" Denise giggled as the group made their way towards the elevator and downstairs. They stepped out and AJ led them towards the restaurant in the back of the lobby. The host immediately took the three and led them to a table.

"See? He's still not here! What a diva." AJ ordered a bottle of champagne from the waiter. "Your best... actually, bring two bottles."

Liane smile shyly at AJ. She felt a bit disconnected. I mean, what was SHE doing here with this man? He was so utterly not her type... but her tummy fluttered everytime he looked into her eyes. God, I would do anything with this man... she thought, then pulled herslef short. She couldn't believe she was thinking those thoughts. AJ reached out a hand and caressed her cheek.

"What's up, babygirl, you look so serious."

Liane looked down, his touch utterly undid her compusure. "I'm... I'm just still in a state of shock, that's all. I don't think I'm quite here."

"I know what you need." leaning forward AJ kissed her lightly on the lips, tracing her neck with his fingertips. Sensation exploded through Liane's body. "Are you with me now?" he whispered.

"Yeah." said Li, smiling. "Most definately."

"Well, it's about time." said AJ looking up to see Howie hurry to the table.
