"Let me drive" Kevin told Eve as they left Breanna's house.
"Okay, you're the boss." Eve teased Kevin. He smiled in response as he hopped into the driver side of Eve's Ford Expedition.
"You're such a small woman, it's such a turn-on to see you drive something this big." He said laughing to her.
"I drive you, don't I?" She asked with a knowing smile.
"Like I said, it's such a turn on." He stated. As they drove back to his hotel Eve rubbed her stomach wondering why she felt so sick all of a sudden.
"You okay?" Kevin asked. She shook her head.
"I think I need to lay down. I hope I'm not coming down with something. At least not while you're here." She told him, rolling down her window to get some fresh air.
"That's okay if you are, I'll take care of you." He said placing his hand on her knee. She placed her hand over his and squeezed it.
"I love you." She sighed looking out the window.
"I know. Me too." He smiled. When they got to the hotel Kevin checked in while Eve hung around the lobby looking green. She hadn't been feeling good that entire week but that day just happened to be the worst. After checking in, Kevin shepherded Eve into their room and made her rest while he rummaged through the refrigerator looking for some ginger ale and some saltines in the cabinet. By the time he found everything Eve was already asleep. When she awoke two hours later she found Kevin watching her from the edge of the bed.
"How long have you been feeling sick?" He asked her with deep concern.
"All week. I probably have a virus. I've been stressing out because of finals like Breanna so I'm assuming my immune system hasn't exactly been working right." She said sitting up in bed.
"Why don't you make an appointment with the doctor?" He asked.
"No Kev, honestly I'm okay. It's probably the flu."
"It's not flu season." He stated.
"Well, it could be anything." She stated as she looked around the room.
"Hungry?" He asked.
"Yeah, I am. I'm starving actually." She said smiling. Kevin stared, searching her face. He normally had good intuition and he had an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach that something wasn't right.
"Well, let's go get something to eat." She said bringing Kevin out of his daze.
"Sure thing! Put on some shoes and we'll go." He said smiling at her. The green face came back to Eve as she jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom sick to her stomach.
"I guess this means her appetite is gone." He said to himself, sighing. Something wasn't right.
"What if...?" He thought to himself.
"No, she would know. Wouldn't she?" He questioned again as Eve walked out of the bathroom, her face drained of any color.
"I'll order room service. Get back into bed." He said helping her into bed, tucking her in. "You're not going anywhere." He told her as she nodded.
"I'm not going to argue. I don't have the energy." She said quietly, playfully. He smiled at her and kissed her forehead.
"I'm gonna go into the living room to look at the room service menu. What do you want to..." He started to ask her but she silenced him with a wave of her hand, her eyes shut. The thought of food made her sick. He nodded his head understanding what she meant.
"I'll see you in a minute." He stated as he walked out of the room.
Kevin walked into the living room and grabbed his cellphone and dialed an all familiar number.
"Hello, you've reached the Happy House of Whores! Our two for one sale is still going on!" The man on the other line greeted.
"Very funny, Nick. Where's Brian?" Kevin asked.
"Hey Kev! Gettin' lucky again?" Nick asked.
"No, she's sick. Where's Bri?" He asked again.
"In the other room. What's wrong?" Nick asked.
"Nothing. I gotta talk to Brian." Kevin stated.
"Hold on. I'll go get him. I think he's playing B-ball with AJ." Nick mentioned as he put the phone down to get his friend.
"Yo Kev, what up?" Brian greeted.
"You alone?" Kevin asked nervously.
"Yeah, why? You okay, Cuz?" Brian asked.
"I'm okay." Kevin said with emphasis.
"What's wrong with Eve?" Brian asked, his attitude turning stone serious.
"I don't know. She says she's been feeling sick all week. She was nauseous when we were in the car then she went to take a nap. When she woke up she was so hungry it seemed she could eat a horse and within two minutes she's running to the bathroom sick to her stomach. Now I can't even mention food around her." Kevin complained. Silence on Brian's side of the phoneline. "Bri?" Kevin asked.
"What do you think is wrong, Kevin?" Brian asked.
"I...I don't know. We've barely been dating for two months. I hate to think of what could be wrong." He stated.
"...and that would be?" Brian coaxed.
"She could be pregnant." Kevin stated.
"She could be but you won't know until you go to see a doctor or get an at home test." Brian said.
"I know. But we've barely been together for two months. I think this relationship is going to work out but a baby would put too much stress on us, especially this soon in the relationship. Our lives are too hectic. I mean, my career comes first right now, and probably for the next 5 years. Maybe in 3 or even 2 years I could picture this but not now. I don't know what we're going to do. I've always wanted kids but this is just, God, it's just too sudden." Kevin said.
"All that in one breath?" Brian teased Kevin. "Kev, I've never known you to be this out of whack. You normally handle things so well. I can almost promise that she's not pregnant. She would know, it's a woman thing." Brian said reassuring his cousin.
"I hope you're right. I mean, if she is of course I'll love them both, but I want to be selfish and have her all to myself right now." Kevin grinned into the phone.
"I know, Cuz, I know. Just relax, talk to her, if she's not sure, take a test, and then you can jump to conclusions, k?" Brian stated.
"Yeah, I know. Thanks, Brian."
"Hey, we're family. You better do the same for me next time I knock up a girl." Brian teased.
"You bet! I'll call you later."
"You'll call me when you find out what's really going on!" Brian demanded.
"Sure thing! Later." Kevin said, hanging up the phone.
Eve was listening to the conversation from where she laid. After another ten minutes Kevin walked back into the room. Eve felt a little bit better and decided she would scare him a little.
"Kevin, we need to talk. Sit." She demanded, patting the spot on the bed next to her.
"When we started going out, when we were in Vegas actually, I had just gotten off the Pill. And...." She said not looking into his face.
"And?" He asked desperately.
"And I got back on it!" She said audibly, laughing. "And another thing, my period ended two days ago. If I was pregnant, I would have told you the minute I assumed something wasn't right. Calm down, you're not going to be a father just yet!" She said patting his head, smiling. He took a deep breath, exhaling slowly.
"Bitch." He said, laughing with relief.
"Bitch? You're the one who assumed I was pregnant after 2 hours of symptoms!" She said laughing at him. He jumped on the bed and playfully tackled her. After wrestling around for a while Eve became ill again. "I think you have a phone call to make." Eve told Kevin. "I'll go get sick in the bathroom right now and you go call your cousin back to let him know that we're fine and our little family we have going on here is sticking to the population count of TWO!" She said as she walked back towards the bathroom.
"Need me for anything?" He asked from the door.
"No! Call him!" She demanded weakly.
"Okay, I'll be back in a minute." He assured her.
"Heeeeello!" AJ greeted.
"Doesn't Brian ever answer his own phone?" Kevin joked.
"Hey Kev! What's.......?" AJ started to say when Brian yanked the phone out of his hand and ran upstairs to talk to Kevin privately.
"What's going on?" Brian asked.
"Eve said to tell you that our "family" population is 2. Her and I. Nothing more." Kevin said calmly as Brian exhaled.
"I'm glad to hear it. Aren't you glad you talked to her?" Brian questioned.
"I didn't talk to her. She overheard my conversation with you." Kevin said laughing.
"Geez, women have better hearing than we do. They have better everything than we do. Bathrooms, dressing rooms, clothes, intuition, instincts, everything!" Brian complained.
"You've been hangin' around Nick and AJ too long, Bri." Kevin joked.
"Yeah, I know." He agreed.
"Well I gotta go but I just wanted to give you the news." Kevin said, still smiling with relief.
"Later man. See you next week." Brian said.
"WAIT! Next week? What are you talking about?" Kevin asked, confused.
"Oh, AJ didn't tell you?" Brian asked.
"No, you yanked the phone away from him before he could get a word in." Kevin pointed out.
"Oh right. Hehe, anyway, we have the next two weeks off cause we'll be flying to Sweden soon." Brian stated.
"When did we decide this?" Kevin asked. He was used to being the one who had a major say in what the guys were going to do. He was normally the leader though he would never admit to it, only deny it.
"AJ, Nick and I did. Sorry, cuz. We all knew we had to go anyway, so we figured we'd leave after Eve and Breanna moved out here. We had to make a decision today. Max needed to know cause he had other business." Brian explained. Kevin sighed, not sure if he liked what he was hearing but knowing there really was no other choice. Their career came first.
"Fine. I'll just stay out here with Eve and help her move. Does D know anything?"
"I don't think so. You can tell him." Brian said, walking around his bedroom thoughtlessly.
"Yeah, okay. I'll see him tomorrow." Kevin said. "Anyway, Eve's still sick so I'm gonna go check on her. Thanks Bri! Later!" Kevin said quickly as he hung up.
"Bye??" Brian questioned, looking at the phone. Kevin didn't give Brian a chance to say goodbye.
Eve got back into bed slowly and laid there thinking about everything...everything Kevin. She had never been that in love before and she loved every bit of it. Of course she had thoughts in the back of her head telling her that he could meet someone better when they went on tour. He could meet someone famous. Someone drop dead gorgeous. But Eve pushed those thoughts out of her head when Kevin entered the room smiling from ear to ear. "Great, you're smiling like today's the best day ever while I lay here feeling like crap." She teased.
"Well, I feel terrible that you're not well but that means I get to take care of you. Anyway that's not the reason I'm smiling." He said as he slithered from the bottom of the bed on his stomach to the top of the bed where Eve was. He did it so seductively that Eve wanted to jump on top of Kevin to have her way with him but she refrained. Her energy level was nonexistent.
"Fine, tell me why you're smiling." She said as he leaned in close to her chest. He touched her face with the back of his hand and frowned.
"Want to stay here for the next week with me?" He questioned as he slowly undid the front part of her shirt.
"A week? You're gonna stay a week?" She asked quietly, concentrating on every move he was making.
"Uh-hum." He nodded as he pushed her shirt over her shoulders revealing her black bra.
"Why?" She asked, realizing that she was going to have to reject him that night for the first time ever. She felt as sick as a dog.
"Because we're leaving to Sweden in two weeks." He said as he tossed her shirt onto the floor. He made his way down to her shorts and took them off, tossing them with her shirt. He stared at her body and how red it looked. He looked at her face which was drained of all color. She was expecting him to take off his clothes but all he did was throw the blankets onto the floor. "Great, he wants to try to have sex with me on the hard floor." She thought to herself. Instead Kevin got out of bed, walked over to her and picked her up.
"Where're we going?" She asked in a small voice.
"You probably thought I was planning on making love to you. You're burning up. I'm going to put you in a cool bath to try to bring your fever down." He explained to her. She nodded her head in approval of his idea.
After twenty minutes Kevin felt Eve's cheeks and forehead with the back of his hand. "The fever's gone. Let's get you back in bed. You're going to have to try and eat something." He told her.
"Yeah, I will. I feel a lot better anyway." She smiled. "Maybe I do have the flu. I'll go to the doctors on Monday." She told Kevin who didn't look too impressed as he fluffed up her pillows so she could sit up against them. "Kevin, they aren't open on a Sunday! It's just going to have to wait until Monday." Eve protested after seeing the expression on his face. He sighed,
"That's fine. Just eat something for now." He stated smoothing out her hair with both of his hands so he could kiss the top of her head.
"Thanks." She murmured falling back asleep.
"Or eat something when you wake up." He said quietly with a small grin on his face.
On Monday Eve went to the doctors and got the diagnosis' she was expecting. A mild case of the flu. "Drink plenty of liquids, stay in bed, try to eat, and take aspirin to reduce the fever." Kevin nodded in agreement with the doctors orders. "Keep her in bed!" the doctor told Kevin pointedly.
"I will, trust me." He said with a serious face.
"You're a good man. Treat this one well, Eve." the doctor said laughing to Eve. She nodded her head.
"Thanks Doctor 'Sicky'." Eve joked.
"Sicky?" Kevin asked laughing.
"Yes. Eve's been calling me that ever since she was a little girl. My last name is Sikharulidze, it's Georgian but Eve was never able to pronounce it. So 'Sicky' has stuck ever since." The doctor explained smiling at Eve adoringly. He was observing the way Kevin and Eve spoke to one another, the way they smiled or looked at each other and came to the conclusion that Eve may have finally found her match. Kevin was everything that Eve wasn't and it seemed to work for her. He was the tall, strong, caring man that Eve needed in her life. Doctor Sikharulidze thought of Kevin as the protector Eve had been looking for in every man she had dated but never found. He gave them a few more months before they both realized that they were made for one another.
"I don't want another girlfriend, EVER!" Nick screamed as he slammed down the phone.
"What happened?" Brian asked, not sure whether Nick was in the mood to talk or just complain.
"She's cheating on me! She claims I'm not around enough. She has what she called 'a woman's wants and needs.'" He sighed.
"Isn't that just like a woman?" AJ strolled into the room.
"Yeah I guess." Nick huffed sitting on Brian's living room couch.
"Why can't I find someone like Breanna or Eve or Mya?" Nick asked Brian.
"Or Rachel?" AJ asked.
"No, not Rachel. She's a bitch. Sorry Brian, but she's gotta go. She's the same as Naomi. Hell, they're related!" Nick yelled out. Brian was staring at the floor comprehending what Nick was saying.
"I know. We've been together forever and we've been through so much. It's just really hard to actually end it." Brian said quietly.
"Sorry Brian. I'm just angry right now." Nick apologized.
"It's not your fault. You're right. At least she isn't nearly as bad as Helaina." Brian sighed thinking about what Howie went through with that girlfriend.
"No shit! I felt so bad for D. At least he has Breanna now." Nick stated. All the guys were sitting in Brian's large living room that had a very homey atmosphere. There were two large beige couches in the form of an "L". Brian's mother had picked them out for him when he first bought his house. In front of the longest couch was a large coffee table. It looked just like one he saw at one of the hotels they stayed at in Europe. A few yards away were three lay-z-boy recliners positioned around the front of the couches, an entertainment center off to the side that Rachel picked out for him, bookshelves built into the walls, and various pieces of artwork on the walls. It was very simple, very Brian.
"Well, D saw that Witch the other day." AJ commented sitting back in one of the recliners.
"He did!?" Brian asked in shock.
"Yeah. It wasn't pretty. That was the night of your party, Bri."
"He never said anything. So, she's back in town?" Brian couldn't believe that Helaina would move back to Orlando.
"I guess so. D's only worried about Breanna finding out about her once she moves here." AJ wasn't really in the mood to talk to Helaina. As far as he was concerned, that bitch should have been ran over when he had the chance.
After ten minutes of silence, Nick's face lit up. "I got it!" He said excitedly.
"Huh?" Brian said in a daze. He had been thinking about how he would break up with Rachel.
"I don't know about the two of you but I'm gonna call the airline. I'm goin' to LA, baby! We have two weeks off. Orlando is basically where we work. I wanna get away from work and Naomi. Kev and D found the perfect women from LA. I might as well go and see what's out there. At least I know I'll have fun. It's a non-stop party!" Nick had already jumped up and gone into the kitchen to grab the phone book. "Who's coming?" He asked flipping through the pages.
"Spontaneous Frack? This is new! Count me in." AJ said still sitting in the recliner drinking a beer. v"Hmmmm...." Brian said to himself. "Nick, don't make the reservations yet. Let me make a phone call first." Brian said slowly in deep thought. He picked up the phone and dialed a few digits and waited for a few seconds.
"Hello, Rachel? Hi Hun!" He said like he was in love. Nick looked at his friend with disgust while AJ watched Brian with a smirk on his face. "Yeah, I'm just calling to let you know that I'm on my way out the door to Los Angeles with Nick and AJ. No, we're going alone, Rachel." Brian stated in the sweetest voice he could make.
"I know I'm forgetting something..." he said thoughtfully. Nick could hear Rachel's voice on the other line yelling at Brian.
"Oh yeah, Nick's single now. He and your cousin broke up, but wait, no, that's not it..." Brian continued.
"Oh yeah! I'm single, too! It's over. Good-bye, Rachel." Brian said smiling as he hung up the phone.
"Nick, don't you have a few plane tickets to reserve?" Brian asked running up the stairs to go pack his things.
"YEAH!" Nick screamed while he dialed the airlines.
"I'll see you both at the airport in about 2 hours?" AJ questioned getting up to leave.
"Yeah, it's 6 o'clock right now. The plane leaves at 9 so be there on time, Bone!" Nick shouted from the kitchen.
"No problem. Mya left yesterday for Germany so I don't have any explaining to do. See ya!" AJ called out as he left.
"Nick, don't you have to pack?" Brian asked walking down the stairs with two suitcases in hand.
"All my stuff I'll be needing is here." Nick commented as Brian nodded his head. Nick had been staying with Brian for the past few weeks because it was easier to go to the studio from Brian's house instead of leaving from his place in Tampa.
"It's weird to be single again. I don't think it's hit me yet." Brian stated as he put down his bags and looked around the house. He made a quick mental note to call the neighbors to find out if they could feed his pets.
"It'll hit us when we see Kev and D with Eve and Breanna." Nick said with a soft laugh.
"Those love birds will make me sick!" Brian joked sticking a finger down his throat.
"You're a dork!" Nick joked.
"I'm gonna go pack up my stuff and call my parents to let them know that I'll be gone. Should we call D or Kev?" Nick asked.
"No, let's surprise them. We can plan a graduation party for Bree and Eve." Brian said smiling. He had grown to love both girls like sisters. Breanna was much closer to him and AJ and Eve was closest with Nick.
"Eve will love it! I have a few things for her. She wanted to know what Quit Playing Games would sound like remixed with a harder edge so I did it!" Nick was proud of his effort.
"You made QPG sound like a hard rock song?" Brian asked cracking up.
"Yeah, man. Actually it has more of a Nirvana meets Depeche Mode feel." Nick commented as he walked upstairs to get his bags.
"Let me hear it!" Brian said. He was very curious about what the song would sound like.
"No! It's for Eve. She gets to hear it first." Nick never told Brian about his pet project and he had a strange feeling Nick had a small crush on Eve.
"Hey Nick, Eve has two sisters. One's 23 and the other is 18." Brian commented.
"Really? We'll have to check them out." Nick wasn't really paying attention to Brian.
"Yeah, and one's half pig and half woman!" Brian joked to see how well Nick was listening. Nick was in the guest room folding his Tommy Hilfiger jacket and placing it in his suitcase.
"Cool!" Nick commented. Brian was laughing at his friend.
"What?" Nick asked as he came out of his daze.
"You weren't even listening, Frack." Brian joked.
"Sorry man. I just wanna get out of here." Nick stated.
"Do they have Play Station?" Nick asked Brain.
"I dunno. Why? You're not going to have time to play anything." Brian teased Nick.
"You're gonna be looking for girls, remember? You'll be too busy drinking, partying, and havin' sex!" Brian said laughing.
"Maybe this whole being-single-again thing is just what *you* needed." Nick told Brian with a smirk on his face.
"Maybe. We'll see!" Brian tossed over his shoulder walking out of Nick's room to his own.
AJ walked into his house to look around for a few things. "What the hell do I need to take?" He asked himself. He was in a daze as he walked around his house thinking about how lonely it felt without Mya around. Just as he started picturing her face and the feeling of her lips against his, the phone rang. "Argh!" He yelled out walking towards the closest phone. "Yeah?" He asked into the phone. On the other line he heard a very bubbly, sultry voice.
"Hey Sexy!" Mya greeted over a bad connection.
"God I miss you!" AJ blurted out.
"Do you? I'll be seeing you in two weeks when you get to Sweden." She stated. She wouldn't say it to AJ but she missed him terribly. Mya stood in a phone booth in the Berlin airport, her plane arriving ten minutes earlier.
"I know, I know. Anyway, the guys decided to go join Kevin and D out in LA. I guess I'm gonna go with them." AJ explained.
"Rachel and Naomi going along for the ride? If they are, I feel sorry for you. I don't know what those two see in 'em." Mya complained.
"No, the guys are going single. Naomi was cheating on Nick so he ended it and an hour later Brian called Rachel to tell her hasta la vista, baby!"
"Good! They didn't need 'em anyway. Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm in Berlin and you know the name of the studio I'll be at so call me when you want to hear the sound of my voice." Mya said softly to AJ. The sound of her voice melted his soul as he sat down in the nearest chair comprehending her words.
"You know I'll call frequently." He teased.
"You better not! The less work I get done the longer I'll be there. The rest of the girls would become jealous anyway. They all wanted their own Backstreet Boy."
"Well, there are two available ones." AJ commented. Mya laughed.
"I know. Anyway, you better enjoy yourself in LA. I'll call your cellphone. Tell Breanna and Eve I said 'hello!'" Mya demanded.
"I'll have a blast, you know I will. Breanna and Eve live in Santa Monica."
"Oh no! You better not come home with any more tattoos, Alex! I mean it!! If you drop by Third Street Promenade, pick me up an outfit from that cute Indian boutique?" She asked sweetly.
"That hella expensive Indian boutique? I might, I don't know. If you're good." He laughed.
"C'mon! You know I don't have the time to fly out to LA whenever I get the urge like you do." She whined.
"Fine, fine. I'll pick you up a dress and maybe a few skirts and shirts. But things *I* like." He told her.
"Fine. I'm happy with that. I love you." She smiled into the phone.
"I love you, too baby." He replied. They both hung up and sighed at the same time. Things with them were going better than ever before. AJ wondered if this would lead to something permanent. He sat there thinking of Mya and all the fun they had together. He also thought about how she took care of him and everyone close to him. He couldn't picture life without her. He sat thinking of Mya and their future for over an hour. He was in deep thought when the phone rang again.
"I'm not home. Leave me a message. Beep!" AJ said into the phone. "Very funny, Bone. Get your ass in that car and get to the airport! You have 40 minutes to get here before we leave without you." Nick complained from his cellphone at the airport.
"Shit!" AJ muttered.
"Alright, I'm leaving right now. How was traffic?" He asked.
"It's Orlando. It's Saturday Night. It's the airport freeway. What do you think?" Nick asked sarcastically.
"I get the point. I'm leavin' now. See ya!" AJ hung up the phone and ran upstairs to his room.
"Shit, shit, shit!" He mumbled as he grabbed a few things here and there and tossed them unfolded into two different suitcases. He ran around his bathroom grabbing his personal items and tossed them into his backpacks large front pocket. "I hate backpacks." He muttered tossing a few pair of funky shoes and hats into one of the opened suitcases. "Sunglasses!" He called aloud walking quickly to his draw where hundreds of pairs of sunglasses were kept. "Blue, green, orange, what else?" He asked himself. "CDs! Discman! Laptop!" He tried recalling everything he needed. When he was done packing he ran down the stairs to change the message on his answering machine. "I got two suitcases, my laptop, and this damned backpack. I'm ready to roll I hope!" AJ walked out the garage door into the garage. He loaded up his car with his things and ran back into the house to set the house alarm. "Time to par-tay!" He rebel yelled as he jumped into his Expedition and took off quickly towards the airport.
Howie and Breanna talked the night away in her room. It was already Monday, almost four days since he had arrived in LA. "I can't believe your parents are letting me stay with you." He said in disbelief.
"I can't either. I'm still in shock. Mom *and* dad like you a lot. They've never liked anyone I've dated. Well, mom liked Christian, dad thought he was okay, and Alexei thought he was a flake." She said with a slight giggle. Howie laid with Breanna in his arms thinking about his past.
"Breanna? You've told me everything about your past, haven't you?" He asked. She took a few minutes to think about that question. She let out a long sigh.
"No." She said quietly. Howie could feel her body tense up.
"What haven't you told me?" He asked quietly, playing with her hair.
"I was pregnant once." She mumbled.
"What happened?" He coaxed.
"I was 17. It happened right before I met Eve. I was going out with this older guy and I got pregnant. He beat me a lot when I threatened to leave him. When he found out about the baby he demanded that I get an abortion but I told him no. He still beat me while I was pregnant but he always hit me where no one could see the bruises. My head, my back, my stomach. No one knows about the abuse. Alexei suspected it but I denied it. I've never lied to Lex. Anyway, I was three months along when I lost the baby. I guess now that it was for the best but it was a baby. *My* baby." she said sadly.
"Did your parents know?"
"No. Lex knew. He was the only one who probably would never have looked down on me because of that. I don't know how my parents would have reacted if they knew. Maybe I'll tell my mom one of these days, I don't know. Eve doesn't know, either. I never told her. She has enough skeletons in her closet to deal with." Breanna stately calmly.
"Wow..." Howie exhaled. "I'm sorry." He said. Breanna shrugged her shoulders slightly.
"You want to tell me something, don't you." Breanna stated.
"Um...yeah. I wanted to tell you before you found out some other way." He tried explaining.
"Tell me everything and let me know when you're done." She said quietly. Breanna was afraid of what she was about to hear but she wanted to hear everything he had to say before she jumped to conclusions and started screaming at him before hearing the end of the story.
"I dated someone not too long ago who I thought I was in love with. She was tall and beautiful...on the outside. She was cold and hateful on the inside. I thought I was in love with her and I spent every waking moment with her. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on her. The guys tried to tell me that I was blind and she was evil but I never listened. I even threatened to drop out of the group if they kept saying hateful things about her. Eventually they realized there was no reasoning with me and gave up. She always degraded me, put me down, and only made me feel good when it suited her. She cheated on me with almost every man in town. She flirted with other guys in front of me but I never did anything about it. I thought she was my life and my future. It's like she cast some type of spell on me. It got to the point where I realized who she really was. I tried so many times to break up with her but each time I went back to her, needing her for some reason. When I eventually broke up with her for good she came to me one day crying. She found out she was a few months pregnant and she claimed it was mine. I told her I wouldn't take her back but I would be there for the baby only. She used the baby to get what she wanted from me. She threatened me so many times that she would get an abortion if I didn't take her back or give her what she wanted. She told me I would be responsible for the death of an innocent baby. Eventually she had an abortion. Afterwards she left Orlando for New York City. She was a model at one time in her life and she wanted to go back and try it again. It was like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders but a few days ago she showed up at one of the clubs I like to dance at. She knew I would probably be there I think. That's it." He said quietly. Breanna had her back to Howie as she laid in his arms. She turned around to reveal tears streaming down her face.
"Who is she?" Breanna asked angrily.
"Her name's Helaina." He stated calmly staring into her eyes.
"You should have known she was evil, the word Hell is in her name." Breanna stated. Howie nodded his head in agreement.
"I don't want her near you. I don't want anyone to hurt you like that!" Breanna was angry with this Helaina woman but knew she didn't have it in her to actually hunt her down. Howie smiled sympathetically to Breanna.
"No one will ever again. I grew up quick after that." He smiled at her with glossy eyes. He was near tears remembering what Helaina did to him.
"We both lost babies." Breanna whispered.
Breanna played with Howie's soft hands. Both were silent thinking about their past. Breanna was abused physically until her baby died. Howie was abused emotionally until his baby died. After a few minutes of thinking Breanna sat up and walked to her bedroom door to lock it. She walked quietly back to the bed where Howie laid, grabbed her remote and turned on one of her Cirque Du Solei CDs. She sat on the edge of her bed lighting two small candles that were placed next to a framed picture of Howie and Breanna at Disneyland. She turned off the bedroom light and stared at Howie who remained motionless. He returned the stare with a questioning look.
"I can't wait until Orlando." She quietly stated. Howie couldn't figure out what she meant until she leaned down to kiss him. He had never felt a kiss with so much power, so much searching, so much confusion, or so much love. He pulled her shirt over her head and tossed her jean shorts onto the ground. After a few minutes he finally unhooked her bra and tossed it somewhere. Howie's clothes came off eventually as the couple kissed heatedly under the sheets.
"What about your parents?" He asked in between kisses.
"Lex said they were going to a movie then a party at the firm where my dad works. Lex is out on a date, he's probably doing the same thing right about now." She smiled at Howie.
"Okay." He breathed as he rolled her over onto her back. After an hour of foreplay they stopped what they were doing to catch their breathes. He played around with her face tracing all of the contours with his index finger while Breanna closed her eyes to enjoy the feeling. When he stopped she opened her eyes to see him staring at her.
"What?" She asked confused.
"You're beautiful." He stated. She grinned back at him as he leaned down to kiss her. During the kiss Breanna wrapped her legs around his waist. He took this as a sign. As he entered her Breanna let out a deep sigh, digging her nails into his back. She tried not to scream out in pleasure for fear that someone was actually home. After a few minutes Breanna couldn't contain herself and let out small whimpers and screams. She couldn't get enough of him. She took control after an hour by climbing on top of him. She controlled their love making for most of the evening tiring Howie out. "Where'd you get the stamina?" He joked to her.
"From you." She yelled out as Howie tossed her onto her back.
"It's not fair that you do all the work." He breathed.
"But I enjoy it." Breanna replied. After a few hours of making love they both fell asleep in each others arms.
When they awoke it was to a knock on the door. Breanna turned to see that her clock read 10 am. "Who is it?" She asked.
"It's Lex. You have a guest or two or three." He replied.
"What? Who?" She was too tired to think about who it could have been.
"Just come out of your room and bring that bum you call a boyfriend with you." Alexei joked.
"Damn...this better be worth it or you're dead!" She yelled to her brother.
"Just hurry up and put some clothes on." Alexei knew that something happened when he found her door locked when he got home early that morning.
"Howie? Hun, wake up." She said nudging his arm.
"Hmm?" He muttered, his eyes fluttering open slowly. When he saw Breanna's face his eyes widened and a smile appeared on his lips. "Hi." He said.
"We gotta get up. Lex says I have company and you have to come too. It's probably some cousins or something." She complained. Howie frowned at the idea of not being able to spend the morning with Breanna in his arms.
"C'mon. If I gotta get up so do you. Just throw your clothes back on from last night." She said with a sly smile on her face remembering the night they shared.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" Howie asked. She nodded her head while her face turned red.
"You should be proud. It's never been that good before." She said throwing his shirt at him from off the floor. He laughed. "So should you." He smiled. After they quickly threw their clothes back on Breanna walked into her bathroom with Howie following. She washed her face quickly and started putting toothpaste on her toothbrush when Howie started having wondering hands.
"I really need to do this," she said pointing her toothbrush at his face, "and I can't if you don't stop it with your 'Roman Hands' or 'Russian Fingers'" she teased him.
"Sorry, I can't help it." He smiled walking out of the bathroom to grab his toothbrush and razor.
"Can I help with that?" She pointed to his razor.
"You wanna help me shave?" He asked.
"Yes, it's always been very erotic to me."
After Breanna helped Howie shave they walked out of her room hand in hand. They heard a group of guys laughing in the other room as Alexei told stories about Breanna.
"Oh no they didn't!" Howie said laughing.
"What?" She asked while they walked down stairs.
"I would recognize that laugh anywhere. Hey Bone, how ya doin?" Howie asked AJ. Breanna looked into the living room to see AJ, Nick, and Brian on the couch joking around with Alexei.
"Hey man!" AJ greeted, both guys embracing.
"Hey guys!" Howie said smiling from ear to ear.
"I know *that* look." Nick teased.
"What look?" Brian asked. "
Someone got LUCKY!" Nick shouted. Everyone in the room shot Nick a glare but Alexei only laughed.
"They're not home, don't worry." Alexei stated realizing that everyone was worried about Breanna's parents.
"Breanna!!!" Brian yelled out as he jumped off the couch and into Breanna's arms. He spun her around until she became dizzy.
"I've missed you, too." She commented. Brian looked at Howie sheepishly.
"Sorry man, she's the sister I've never had."
"No problem." Howie smiled at his friend giving him a quick hug.
"So what brings you to LA?" Howie wasn't sure why they were there when they had to be back in the studio on Wednesday.
"Kevin never called you?" AJ asked.
"I haven't heard a word from him since we got here."
"Well, probably because Eve's been really sick with the flu. She's staying with Kev at his hotel." Brian explained.
"Anyway, we have two weeks off cause we're leaving for Sweden when we get back. You going?" Brian asked Breanna who was still comprehending Eve being sick.
"Huh? Yeah, I guess. What's the phone number for Kevin's hotel?" Breanna asked grabbing the cordless phone off of the coffee table.
"She's in bed sleeping. Kevin doesn't know we're here but we called him this morning from our hotel room and he said she's been in bed sleeping." Brian explained.
"I'll just let her sleep." Breanna mumbled placing the phone back onto the coffee table.
"Anyway, where's your better halves?" Howie joked. Nick, AJ, and Brian sat on the couch, Alexei sat in one of the recliners while Howie and Breanna sat in the other recliner.
"Well, Mya's in Germany recording some songs. She said to say 'hello' by the way." AJ said to Breanna. Nick looked at Howie smiling from ear to ear.
"What's up Nick?" Howie asked with curiosity.
"I'm here to meet girls!" He stated proudly.
"Wha? What about Naomi?" Howie couldn't believe Nick would cheat on his girlfriend.
"She's history. Ask Brian the same question!" Nick was happy to be finally single again.
"Okay. Brian, what about Naomi?" He joked.
"No, D!" Nick protested.
"I know, I know. Where's Rachel?" Howie asked.
"Same as Nick. We kinda broke up with our girlfriends last night and two hours later we're on a plane to LA." Brian explained looking at Breanna and how happy she looked in Howie's arms. He had to admit, he had never seen Howie look so happy with a woman in his life. After his previous relationship, Howie deserved what he had with Breanna.
"You guys are crazy." Howie said shaking his head.
"This is our vacation! Par-tay!" Nick shouted. This is definitely going to take my mind off school, Breanna thought. Her first two finals had been the day before. Her last four finals were scheduled for Wednesday and Friday morning.
"Las Vegas revisited!" AJ stated as Brian, Nick, and Breanna yelled their approval. Howie glanced at Alexei smiling.
"Get ready for a week long
party,
my friend."
