Nick was talking to Polly when he saw AJ and Kymmi walk back into the house, hand in hand "what the?" Nick turned his attention from Polly and watched as AJ and Kymmi hugged and walked out onto the dance floor "Polly excuse me for one second" Nick slid threw the crowd and stood in the gap between Howie and his brother and watched the couple. Kymmi was laughing and throwing back her head as AJ whispered in her ear. AJ's hands were running up and down her back and he was grinning. Nick's anger grew as the couple heated up the dance floor. He waited until the song ended and he stepped in front of Kymmi and AJ as they walked towards the kitchen.
"Did you have fun?" Nick asked angrily.
AJ saw the look on Nick's face and he knew what was coming "Nick don't fly off the handle, we were just having some out there"
Kim Ann tossed her red hair in defiance and looked at Nick icily "If you are going to pull this shit on me then I am going to start rethinking all the excuses I made for becoming interested in you in the first place. Jesus, AJ and I are friends; I am a flirt and I love to have fun. If I cannot have fun without you questioning me and acting like a stupid jealous lug then this will end before it even got started." Kim Ann stomped off to get a drink and calm down.
"Christ Nick you are blowing it. You know the way Kim Ann is, and as if you thought her and I were hooking up when she is my girlfriend's best friend. Thanks for the vote of confidence buddy. If anyone asks, I am gone home to check on Molly, all of a sudden I don't feel like partying anymore." AJ shook his head as he walked away.
"Idiot, idiot" Nick walked through the crowd trying to find Kim Ann so that he could apoligise and try to make amends. He asked Howie who told him that he had seen her walk outside swearing and mumbling. "What did you do to piss her off?" Howie asked with a smirk.
"Long story, let's just say that I acted my age and she didn't like it" Nick grabbed two beers as he passed the kitchen and walked out onto the beach, towards a figure that was sitting on the water's edge. "Can I sit here?" he asked softly.
"You mean you aren't going to be pissed off and jealous that I am sharing the beach with the seagulls?" Kim Ann muttered sarcastically.
I deserved that, Kymmi I am sorry. It was just I know what a flirt AJ is and I have seen how he works. When I saw the way you guys were dancing and interacting I saw him making his move and it freaked me out. I guess I was jealous because he was getting to do that with you and I was left watching" Nick looked into Kymmi's green eyes and softly smiled.
"Nick I am a wild spirit, I love having fun. AJ and I are alike in many ways and I love being able to hang with someone who is like me. Trust me though I am not at all interested in the tatooed one. It seems that no matter how hard I try I cannot get a certain immature, blonde, spoiled suck face out of my mind." Kymmi ran her fingers through Nick's short blonde hair and smiled.
"Spoiled brat....immature...suck face? I will show you a suck face" Nick grabbed Kim Ann's face and kissed her hard.
Kim Ann pulled away and grinned "Now that is what I call sucking face, come
on little man let's go heat up the dance floor" Nick helped her up and the
two walked down the beach and back into Howie's house.
