AJ tried to ignore the soft sniffling as he took a lock of the chesnut hair that drove him wild, into his hand and brought the scissors to it. "Are you ready baby?" his voice cracked.
Molly looked in the mirror and as her heart broke she said "yes"
AJ took a deep breath and cringed when he heard the snip of the scissors and felt the locks come free in his hand. He kissed her neck and continued to cut away her curls. With every cut he made the more the two lovers cried, each sharing in the other's pain. Molly's pain was for the loss of her pride and the loss of feeling desirable. AJ crying for the pain that the woman he loved was feeling. He held the last long curl in his hand and kissed it and smelled, taking in the vanilla scent and the smooth and silky texture of it. He felt her hands reach up and caress his and together they snipped away the last curl. Molly looked at the tendrils that surronded her feet on the floor and as her hands reached to feel the short wispy strands that were left she saw the man who had saved her from giving up and she felt the strength and courage permeating from him. "Ok baby let's finish this" she handed AJ the clippers and as the soft hum and the cold blade ran over her scalp, her eyes never left the face of the man she loved. She heard the clippers shut off and as she ran her hands over her bald head she reached for AJ and brought him around to face her "Thank you for this, you will never know how much this meant to me" and as their lips kissed all the fear and sadness that had filled the room mere seconds ago dissipated.

"What was up his ass?" Skylar asked as Kim Ann stomped into her house.
"Don't ask, fuck he drives me nuts, I try to help and he shits on me. FUCK" Kim Ann let off a string of obscenities and walked over to the fridge, taking out a bottle of water and slamming the cap down on the cabinet.
"Aw what's the matter, lover's spat" Kevin teased as he walked in from his jog. Skylar shot him a warning glare and he took the hint and walked back onto the porch to finish stretching.
"Kymmi we can talk you know, we are supposed to be best friends" Skylar said softly as she rubbed her friend's shoulders.
"I am fine, just point me in the direction of the mall and I will take out my frustrations on my credit cards."

Nick sat in his parent's driveway fuming. He knew that he shouldn't be mad at Kim Ann for observing the obvious but he was. He was mad at her for making him confront the fear that he had since meeting Nik on the plane. "I have to talk to Nik" he tore out of the laneway and drove to her apartment.

"Before we leave for chemo I have some presents for you" AJ walked into the kitchen laiden down with bags and placed them beside Molly's chair.
"Good lord baby what did you buy?" Molly giggled.
AJ reached into the bag and pulled out some brightly painted scarves "These are for when we go out and have to play dress up." AJ said in referrance to black tie events.
"These are beautiful" Molly said as she examined the hand painted scarves.
"These are for when we are slumming" AJ showed off a varying selection of baseball caps, bucket hats and funky hats. "And this is for when we lie on the beach after your chemo is done" AJ handed her a tube of sunscreen.
"After chemo? Baby we can lie on the beach right now if you want" Molly said confused.
"Uh uh. When you are done chemo you and I are going to Jamaica to celebrate" AJ produced two airline tickets and as Molly broke out into a wide smile AJ picked her up and swung her around. "Baby everything is going to be fine from this day on, I promise"

Kim Ann and Skylar had window shopped and haunted some stores but both were very quiet, which was very unusual because usually when they were together they would as Kevin said "Sound like a bunch of old hens gossiping and clucking a mile a minute." Kim Ann broke the silence as they stopped to get smoothies "Okay Skeelo, spill it, what is up with you?"
"What do you mean?" Skylar said, trying to sound casual.
"Kevin says that you have been really moody and that you have not been feeling well" Kim Ann looked at her friend with a worried expression. She saw the look in Skylar's eyes "Holy shit you are pregnant again aren't you..OH MY GOD SKYLAR..OH MY GOD I am so excited" Kim Ann threw down her bags and sqealed, hugging her friend.
"Shhh yes I am pregnant, I am scared to tell Kev, I mean we had discussed having more kids but we wanted to wait, the guys are getting ready to release their new album and going on a world tour. He can;t be tied down with another baby"
"I should deck you, are you stupid, Kevin loves you and Hannah to death, he is going to die of happiness when he finds out. I mean his swimmers are not getting any younger you know" Kim Ann grinned. "So when are you going to tell him?"
"I was hoping to tell him tonight but Howie has that party tonight and Kev really wants to go."
"Tell him there, pull him aside and tell him. I bet he is so excited that he
announces it right there. You are worrying for nothing. Now let's hit
Victoria's Secret because I know that someone will be in a celebratory mood
when he finds out." The two girls were laughing and hugging as they walked
off.
