The next day, Julie got up early to watch her sister. For the morning, they worked on her school work. Even though it was summer, they kept going with her studies so she was ready for the next school year.
"Trine, you're getting really good at your math! Why don't we go take a lunch break." Julie said. The truth was, Julie was getting a terrible migraine and just wanted to lie down for awhile. She went into the kitchen to take her medicine.
"What's wrong? Are you sick?" Trinity asked.
"I have a bad headache, that's all. What do you want to eat?"
"Peanut butter and honey sandwhich!" she said. Julie made her lunch, and set it on the table.
"Trine, I'm going upstairs to lay down for a few minutes. Put your plate away when you're done eating and go watch some tv for awhile, ok? Wake me up if you need anything." Julie said.
"Ok Julie. Feel better." Trinity said, giving her sister a hug. Julie went upstairs and lay down on her bed. She looked around at her room until she reached her wall with the pictures of the Backstreet Boys. She just stared at Brian as she fell asleep.
Trinity felt bad that her sister wasn't feeling well, and decided to make her some soup so she would feel well. "Mommy always gives me Chicken and Noddles when I'm sick." she said as she opened the can of soup, poured it in the pan, and turned on the stove. While she was adding the water, she spilled some on the stove top and got a towel to wipe it off. What she didn't realize was that she had left the towel sitting right by the burner of the stove. She left the room to turn on the tv and see what was on to watch while the soup heated up. Trinity got involved in a show and forgot all about the soup until she smelled something burning in the kitchen. She ran in to find that the towel had caught on fire and had spread to the wall.
"Oh no! What should I do?" Trinity screamed, trying to find a way to put out the fire. The smoke alarm started going off and Julie woke up with a start to the loud, shrill beeping. She ran down the stairs.
"Trinity!!" she screamed. "Where are you?"
"This is all my fault." Julie scolded herself as she tried to
locate her
sister through
the now smoke filled house. "I never should have left her for that
long."
