Brian took Julie out to the beach and they spent the day laying in the sun and occasionaly catching some waves when the heat got too much for them. They had dinner at a small cafe on the boardwalk and then went back to Julie's.
"So, got anything going on for tomorrow?" he asked.
"Umm...actually, I'm supposed to spend the day with my mom and sister. I have to get up early tomorrow so I need to get to bed early tonight."
"Can you go out after you see them?"
"Well, I think I'm going to be there all evening too. I haven't really spent any time with my family in a while, and I really miss Trinity."
"So I won't get to see you at all tomorrow?" he pouted.
"I'm sorry, sweetie. I'm yours for the rest of the week. I'm sure you have something you can do. Clean your house or something..you haven't lived in it for quite sometime now! I bet it smells pretty ripe. Poor Tyke thinks my apartment is his new home!"
"That's ok, I think he likes you better anyways!"
"Nah- it's just cuz I give him more doggie snacks than you do! I always was a sucker for the puppy dog face." Julie said, leaning closer to Brian.
"You mean this face?" Brian asked, pouting again.
Julie leaned up and kissed him. "That's the one." She kissed him again and he kissed her back, pulling her so close to him that their bodies were crushed up against one another. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he gently caressed her back. She could feel his tongue playing innocently along her lips and she parted them slightly to let him in. Their tongues touched tentatively at first until they deepened the kiss and their tongues were dancing. Julie pulled apart, breathless.
"I'll have to remember to make that face more often!" Brian joked.
Julie playfully punched him in the arm. "You're terrible sometimes, you know that?" she laughed.
"Yeah, I know it." he said, and kissed her again.
"Brian, I think you'd better sleep at your house tonight."
"Why?"
"Because I have to get up early and you're making it very difficult for me to want to go to sleep..."
He smiled. "Ok, I get the hint. I'll just settle for a cold shower!" he laughed.
"You may need an ice bath!" Julie teased.
Brian gathered up Tyke and Julie walked him out to his car. "I'll call you tomorrow night after I get home, ok?"
"That's fine, Jules. Tell your sister I said hi, ok?"
"Oh I will, and I'm sure she'll be delighted to hear it! You're all she ever talks about to me now, you know."
"What can I say? I have a way with the ladies!"
"Yeah yeah, get outta here, will ya?"
"I'm going. I'll see you later." He gave her a quick kiss and drove off.
Julie went back inside and soaked in a nice, hot bubble bath enjoying the peace and quiet. She fell for Brian more and more every second she spent with him but lately she felt as if she could use some time away from him. Truthfully, the trip to visit her family had been her idea to just get some time to herself for a day. It wasn't that she didn't love being with Brian, she just needed some space. Things between them seemed to be moving so quickly and she needed the space to come up for air and think about things.
Shelly and Nick walked over to AJ and Kate's table. "Hey guys! Fancy seeing you here!" Nick said. "What's up?"
"Not much. AJ here is taking me out tonight." Kate said. Neither Kate nor Nick noticed the quick look shared between AJ and Shelly and then their flushed cheeks as they looked away at anything but each other. "My God, Shelly, what happened to your face?" Kate exclaimed.
Shelly snapped out of her daze. "Oh umm...it's a really long story. I'll tell you some other time, ok? I'm here to have a good time with Nick."
"Ok. You're ok, aren't you?" Kate was still worried.
"I'm fine. Nick is taking good care of me."
Kate looked over at Nick who sent her a confirming nod. "I got it all under control!" he smiled.
"Well, it was nice seeing ya'll here but we're gonna go sit down now. I'm starved and I'm pretty sure Nick is, not like that's any surprise or anything!" Shelly said.
"Hey! I'll have you know I've had hardly anything to eat at all today!" They laughed and teased each other as the walked away to their own table.
AJ and Kate finished their dinner and with the tip, AJ left his autograph followed by, "KTBSPA".
"You want to catch a movie?" he asked once they were back in the car.
"Sure. Any suggestions?"
"I was thinking of seeing Scream 3 if that's ok with you." he suggested.
"That's cool with me. Just as long as you promise not to laugh if I get too scared or anything like that."
"I promise. Same goes for you!"
The movie was pretty much uneventful. AJ had put his arm over her shoulders as soon as the previews came on she she leaned against him as she held onto his other hand. They walked out of the theater to the car with their hands tightly entwined. Kate was a little sad that the night had come to an end. As if he was reading her mind, AJ spoke up. "So, you wanna do something tomorrow?"
"Sure. Any ideas?"
"Not right now, but I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something special we can do!"
"Ok. Why don't you give me a call around eleven then?"
"Sounds like a plan."
He walked her to the door and kissed her on the cheek. "Thank you for giving me another chance, Katie. I had a really great time tonight."
"I had fun too. Thanks for everything." She pulled him to her for a
hug.
He kissed
her cheek again and said goodnight. Kate waved from the door as he
drove down
the
street. As much as she had wanted him to give her a real kiss, she was
impressed with the
fact that he was a real gentleman who didn't want to rush into
anything. She
sighed happily
as she walked into the house and got ready for bed.
